6 The regular meeting was called to order at 6:02p.m. by Vice Chair Schneider.

10 PRESENT: Chair Tory Buckley (arrived at 6:07p.m.}, Vice Chair Arnie Schneider, Timothy
11 Frohling, Howard Nass, William Sonnenreich.
12 ABSENT: Christopher Dinolfo.

14 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura

16 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS

18 V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
19 The board unanimously agreed to move the approval of the minutes for the May 20, 2013
20 meeting to the next regular meeting.
21 VI. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON
22 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley
23 Reported the budget jassed; attended the Literacy Coalition Luncheon; suggested a book drive;
24 announced October 3 .. is "Read for the Record".
25 Discussion ensued regarding the book drive.
26 VII. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
27 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert
28 Reported on the following: the Nickelodeon Play Day at the Tennis Center; Soccer Season opening;
29 dedication of the new Concession Stand at Gardens Park; 970 kids attended the Gardens Park
30 Parade; new summer camps this year consisting of Gardens Gives Back, Almost Famous, Mind
31 Body Splash, Cheerleading, campers visited the speedway; summer partnership with the Gardens
32 Green Market at Store Self Storage located at 11010 N. Military Trail; October 6ih the Green Market
33 will move back to City Hall; the Skate Park reopened and the Skate Park Concession Stand building
34 was moved and renovated, new Riverside Playground; partnered with the Police Department for
35 National Night Out
36 VIII. OLD BUSINESS
37 1. Golf Course Renovation Update.
38 StaffPresentation: GolfDirector, Tim Kasher.
39 Discussion ensued regarding landscaping.
40 IX. NEW BUSINESS
41 1. City Park Expansion-Tennis Center Improvement.
42 Staff Presentation: Recreation Director, Laura Schuppert.
43 Discussion ensued regarding parking and Mirasol Playground.
44 X. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC

47 Discussion ensued regarding board member terms.
48 XII. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE
49 The board unanimously agreed to set the next meeting date for November 18,2013.
