REGULAR MEETING
JANAUARY 27, 2014
The regular meeting was called to order at 6:01p.m. by Chair Buckley.
I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Chair Tory Buckley, Vice Chair Maryanne Hedrick, Howard Nass, William
Sonnenreich, Christopher Dinolfo, Carol Dutra Ellis.
ABSENT: Matilde Lanier
ALSO PRESENT:
Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura
Schuppert. Parks Director, Mike Kelly, Operations Manager, Angela Brown, Deputy City Manager,
Jack Doughney.
IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS
None.
V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from November 18, 2013 meeting minutes.
Board Member Sonnenreich made a motion to approve the November 18, 2013 meeting
minutes.
Board Member Dinolfo seconded.
Motion passed 6-0.
VI. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON
Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley
Wished everyone a Happy New Year and welcomed the City Clerk's new staff member.
Reported the Green Market on Sunday January 26th had the best attendance in the last 12 months.
Discussion ensued.
VII. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert
Verified with Board Members they are receiving their City Council updates and calendar of City
events by email. Discussion ensued.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS
A. Mirasol Park Playground Project: Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided
Board Members with fitness equipment catalogs and suggested that each member visit
Mirasol Park. Discussion ensued.
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. Impact fees: Board Members received the Recreation Fee Impact report that was requested
in the previous meeting. Discussion ensued.
B. Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant-Lilac Park: Staff Presentation: Parks
Director, Michael Kelly. Discussion ensued.
X. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC
None.

Board Member Sonnenreich thanked Chair Buckley for getting the board back on track.
Discussion ensued. Board Member Nass questioned staff liaison regarding the pickle ball
inquiry from the public. Discussion ensued.
