CALL TO ORDER 8 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 9 III. ROLL CALL 10 PRESENT: Chair Tory Buckley, Vice Chair Maryanne Hedrick, Howard Nass, Christopher 11 Dino lfo, Carol Dutra Ellis 12 ABSENT: William Sonnenreich, Matilde Lanier 13 ALSO PRESENT: 14 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura 15 Schuppert. 16 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS 17 None. 18 V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the January 27,2014 meeting minutes. 19 Board Member Hedrick made a motion to approve the J anuary 27,2014 meeting minutes. 20 Board Member Nass seconded. 21 Motion passed 5-0. 22 VI. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON 23 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley: Reported she is looking forward to working 24 with the Board for the next three years after being reelected in the March municipal election. Shared 25 with the board Parks and Recreation makes the City a wonderful place to live and improves the 26 quality oflife for the residents. 27 VII. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON 28 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schupp ert announced the City is one of the host cities 29 of the 2014 International Tennis Federation World Championship. 30 VIII. OLD BUSINESS 31 A. Mirasol Park Playground Project 32 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert gave a brief presentation on the playground 3 3 project and asked the board members for their input based on the information provided in the 34 previous board meeting. Discussion ensued. 35 B. Tennis Center Expansion Project 36 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert provided the board with an update on the 37 Tennis Center expansion project. Discussion ensued. 38 IX. NEW BUSINESS 39 None. 40 X. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC 41 None. 42 XI. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD 43 Board Member Buckley voiced his concerns regarding the overuse of the fields and not giving 44 the fiel ds time to "rest". Discussion ensued. Board Member Hedrick inqui re d about the dates 45 the Green Market moves to Store Self Storage and how does the City select the vendors for the 46 summer location. Discussion ensued. Board Member Ellis inquired about the fields being 4 7 closed on Election Day to give parents an opportunity to cast their vote. Discussion ensued.
