ITEMS OF RESIDENT INTEREST AND BOARD/COMMITTEE REPORTS 18 Council Member David Levv: Attended the Police Department Accreditation Hearing; C-51 19 Governance and Finance Board Meeting; Hank Fishkind Economic Update at PGA National 20 hosted by the PGA Corridor Association; Welcomed the Honda Classic. 21 Council Member Marcie Tinsley: Thanked the Honda Classic for being a wonderful City 22 partner by supporting the City; Attended the League of Cities Tri County BBQ in Belle Glade; 23 Palm Beach Gardens Senior Luncheon and thanked staff for a wonderful job; Carolers by Betty 24 Sither at Burns Road Community Center; Celebrated the second day of Hanukah by lighting the 25 Menorah at the Burns Road Community Center; Hank Fishkind Economic Update at PGA 26 National hosted by the PGA Corridor Association; Wished everyone a Happy New Year. 27 Council Member Joseph Russo: Wished everyone a Happy New Year; Listened in on the 28 Police Department Accreditation Hearing; Announced Barbara Nicklaus will be the recipient of 29 the Bob Jones Award which is the United States Golf Association highest honor; Thanked staff 30 and residents that donated and wrapped gifts for the Police Department Joy Drive. 31 Vice Mayor Eric Jablin: Thanked Ed McEnroe for his work with the Honda Classic; wished 32 everyone a Happy New Year; Thanked everyone for attending the Hanukah Menorah Lighting. 33 Mayor Robert Premuroso: Wished everyone a Happy New Year; Thanked Ed McEnroe for his 34 work with the Honda Classic and what the golf tournament does for Palm Beach Gardens and 35 Palm Beach County; Attended the Discovery Village Assisted Living Facility Groundbreaking 36 Ceremony; Attended the Allamanda Elementary School Health and Wellness running track 37 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. 38 . VI. CITY MANAGER REPORT 39 Presented a letter from All Aboard Florida in response to the City's inquiries regarding the 40 project; Announced construction is underway for the Mirasol Park Playground and FIT PARK; 41 Provided a brief presentation on the status of the installation of turf draining in City parks; 42 Announced 280 Holly Drive is now in compliance after the house fire in 2013; Palm Beach 43 Gardens Women's Club will be sponsoring a tree planting on Friday, January 16, 2015 in honor 44 of Arbor Day, students from Howell Watkins Middle School will be assisting with planting a 45 Blue Potatoe Tree for the event; On January 16-17, 2015 at 7:00p.m. the City and Palm Beach 46 Shakespeare Festival will be presenting "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at Veteran's Plaza; 47 Florida Department of Transportation will hold a Public Kick-off meeting on Thursday, January 48 29,2015 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. regarding the Project Development and Environment Phase CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING 01-08-15 PAGE 1 1 2 Study of I-95 at PGA Boulevard and Central Boulevard. RESOLUTION 1, 2015 -AGREEMENT WITH THE CHILDREN'S HEALTHCARE 26 CHARITY, INC. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM 27 BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA AWARDING A PUBLIC SAFETY GRANT FOR OFF -DUTY 28 POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL TO THE CHILDREN'S HEALTHCARE CHARITY, INC. 29 FOR THE 2015 HONDA CLASSIC PGA GOLF TOURNAMENT AND TO APPROVE A 30 LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE USE OF SPECIFIC PORTIONS OF MIRASOL AND PGA 31 NATIONAL PARKS FOR VARIOUS PARKING FACILITIES AND GENERAL 32 OPERATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 33 Vice Mayor Jablin made a motion to approve Resolution 1, 2015. 34 Council Member Tinsley seconded. 35 Motion passed 4-0. 36 Council Member Russo returned to the dias. 37 IX.
