ITEMS OF RESIDENT INTEREST AND BOARD/COMMITTEE REPORTS I7 Council Member David Levv: Attended the Palm Beach County League of Cities Director's I8 Meeting; Announced March 20I5 has been declared Ethics Awareness Month; Attended I9 Loxahatchee River Management Coordinating Council Meeting where he was elected Vice 20 Chair; Announced the Lainhart Dam is getting the minimum required waterflow. 2I ·Council Member Marcie Tinsley: Attended the Palm Beach Gardens Green Market 13th 22 Anniversary celebration; Joint Professional Society 20 I5 Legislative Breakfast; Announced the 23 City of Palm Beach Gardens hosted the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council meeting in 24 Council Chambers; The City will host an All Aboard Workshop on Thursday, February 26, 25 20I5; Attended the Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Workshop 26 regarding the 1-95 and Central Boulevard Project Development and Environmental Study; 27 Announced the Vietnam Traveling Wall is at the Florida Atlantic University Jupiter Campus 28 from April 8-13, 20I5; Legislature has introduced HB-I63 which will prohibit unnecessary 29 lawsuits in regards to public records requests. 30 Council Member Joseph Russo: Attended Arbor Day celebration; PGA National Annual 3I Meeting; North County Economic Development Meeting; Announced the Honda Classic begins 32 this month; The Miami Children's Hospital will be renamed to the Nicklaus Children's Hospital; 33 Vice Mayor Eric Jablin: Express his concerns regarding the schools on II th Court that are one 34 way in and one way out; Honda Classic is going to be a great event this year. 35 Mayor Robert Premuroso: Recognized former Palm Beach County Commissioner Karen 36 Marcus and Jupiter Inlet Colony Commissioner Chip Block in the audience; Delivered the State 37 of the City address to the Rotary Club, Palm Beach Gardens Historical Society, PGA National 38 POA Annual Meeting and Mirasol Country Club; Announced 272 countries and over 200 39 million homes will be watching the Honda Classic, Mike Lyons will be speaking at the Palm 40 Beach Gardens Historical Society on Wednesday, February 11, 20I5. 4I VL CITY MANAGER REPORT 42 Reported the monitors in Council Chambers were not working but audio and live streaming were 43 available; Announced the Police Department for the 121h consecutive year received an award for 44 Crime Night Out from the National Association of Townwatch; For the 8th year in a row the 45 Annual Ladies Pink Ball Golf Tournament raised over $7,000 for the Susan G. ITEMS FOR COUNCIL ACTION/DISCUSSION 26 Council Member Russo requested the City Council sends a letter to Palm Beach State College 27 Board of Trustees of the importance of Palm Beach State College to Palm Beach Gardens and 28 Palm Beach County and hopes the Board strongly considers Dr. Jean Wihbey as the next 29 President of Palm Beach State College. Discussion ensued. 30 Vice Mayor Jablin announced the North County Airport is having an issue over the past year 31 with the Airport Authority who wants to put I 500 feet extra on the north-south runway to 3 2 accommodate larger jets.
