CALL TO ORDER 8 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 9 III. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE 10 Deputy City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to first alternate Matthew Lane. 11 IV. ROLL CALL 12 PRESENT: Chair Tory Buckley, Vice Chair Carol Dutra Ellis, Maryanne Hedrick, Bruce 13 Bonvento , Maria Marino , Christopher Dinolfo , Joseph Mullings. 14 ABSENT: None. 15 ALSO PRESENT: 16 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura 1 7 Schuppert. 18 V. BOARD APPOINTMENTS 19 1. Appointment of Chair 20 Board Member Bonvento nominated Tory Buckley for Chair. 21 Board Member Hedrick seconded. 22 Nomination passed 7-0. 23 2. Appointment of Vice Chair 24 Board Member Marino nominated Carol Dutra Ellis for Vice Chair. 25 Board Member Mullings seconded. 26 Nomination passed 7-0 . 27 VI. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS 28 None. 29 VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the September 21,2015 meeting. 30 Board Member Marino made a motion to approve the September 21,2015 Minutes. 31 Vice Chair Ellis seconded. 32 Motion passed 7-0. 33 VIII. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON 34 IX. Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley 35 Reported the site plans for United Technologies was approved at the October 8, 2015 City 36 Council Meeting; Attended the A venir Public Workshop at the monthly Planning and Zoning 3 7 Appeals Board Meeting; Thanked staff for a wonderful Ribbon Cutting event at Mirasol Park. 38 X. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON 39 Introduced Projects Director Charlotte Presensky who provided a brief presentation on the 40 recreation impact of the Avenir Project. Discussion ensued. Board Member Marino inquired 41 about the Balsamo property. Discussion Ensued. Recreation Director Laura Schuppert 42 announced the Veteran's Day Ceremony will be November 11, 2015 at 11:00 am in Veteran's 43 Plaza; Groundbreaking for City Park will be November 17th or 18th at 4:30; Green Market began 44 October 4th and is averaging 3000 patrons every Sunday; Reported the Memo of Understanding 45 has been signed by Howell L. Watkins Middle School and Palm Beach Gardens High School. 46 XI. OLD BUSINESS 47 Announced the Plant Park Pickleball Courts Grand Opening will be November 14, 2015 at 12:00 48 p.m. PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETING 10-19-15 PAGE 1 1 XII. NEW BUSINESS 2 A. Disc Golf Presentation: 3 Presentation will be given at a later date . 4 B. Pop Tennis Presentation: 5 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided a pop tennis video for the Board to view. 6 Discussion ensued. 7 Public Comment: Michael Gansen 126 Coventry Place, Palm Beach Gardens; Stephen 8 Brodsky, 1409 Barlow Court, Palm Beach Gardens. 9 XIII. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC 10 None. 11 XIV. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD 12 Board Member Marino thanked staff for their hard work at the Ribbon Cutting at Mirasol Park. 13 XV. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE 14 Subsequent to the meeting, the Board members were provided with updates on the 14 15 POP/Pickle ball Courts. Therefore a meeting in November will not be necessary . ADJOURNMENT Board Member Marino made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Board Member Mullings seconded. Motion passed 7-0 Chair Buckley adjourned the meeting at 7 :04p.m. The next meeting will be held January 26, 2015 .
