6 The regular meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Vice Chair Ellis.
7 I. CALL TO ORDER

1 0 Chair Ellis asked for a moment of silence in memory of Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
11 member Tory Buckley.
12 PRESENT: Vice Chair Carol Dutra Ellis, Maryanne Hedrick, Bruce Bonvento, Maria Marino,
13 Christopher Dinolfo, Matthew Lane.
14 ABSENT: Joseph Mullings.
15 ALSO PRESENT:
16 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura
17 Schuppert.
18 IV. BOARD APPOINTMENTS:
19 Vice Chair Carol Dutra Ellis assumes the position of Chair
20 Appointment of Vice Chair
21 Board Member Marino nominated Maryanne Hedrick for Vice Chair
22 Board Member Bonvento seconded.
23 Nomination passed 6-0.
24 V. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS
25 None.
26 VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the October 19, 2015 meeting.
27 Board Member Lane made a motion to approve the October 19,2015 Minutes.
28 Board Member Bonvento seconded.
29 Motion passed 6-0.
30 VII. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON
31 Council Liaison, Council Member Marcie Tinsley
32 Gave a statement on the passing of RAB Chair Tory Buckley and announced on February 5,
33 2016, Field 2 at Lake Catherine will be dedicated in his honor; Attended the groundbreaking of
34 the Joseph R. Russo Athletic Complex at City Park, thanked staff for putting together a
35 wonderful event; Announced at the January 7, 2016 City Council Meeting, the City Council
36 approved on first reading the A venir Project. Discussion ensued. Announced there will be a
37 Florida Department of Transportation Public Workshop for 1-95 and Central Blvd Exchange on
38 February 18, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.
39 VIII.ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
40 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert
41 Announced on January 29, 2016 the City is hosting a LaBlast Master Class that will be taught by
42 Dancing With the Stars Louis van Amstel from 7pm-8pm; Announced the 21 51 Annual Daddy
43 Daughter Date Night will be February 26,2016 at the Burns Road Community Center from 6pm-
44 8pm; lOth Annual Dancing Under the Stars is on February 27,2016 from 7pm-9pm.
45 IX. OLD BUSINESS
46 a. Pickle BalVPop Tennis Court Update
47 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided an update on the Pickle Ball/Pop Tennis
48 Court. Discussion ensued.

2 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided an update on City Park construction.

5 a. Disc Golf Presentation
6 Tim Finan gave a presentation on Disc Golf and a possible location to play the sport in the City.
7 Discussion ensued.
8 b. A venir Development
9 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert gave a brief presentation on the A venir Project.
10 Discussion ensued.
11 c. Cal Ripken lOU World Series Baseball Tournament at Gardens Park
12 Recreation Laura Schuppert announced the Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament will be hel d
13 from July 29th thru August 7th at Gardens Park. Discussion ensued.
14 X. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC
15 None.
16 XI. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD
17 Vice Chair Hedrick inquired about the status of the construction of the Sandhill Crane Golf
18 Clubhouse. Projects Director Charlotte Presensky provided a status on the clubhouse.
19 Discussion ensued. Board Member Marino announced this will be her last RAB meeting due to
20 her becoming a City Council member in April. Vice Chair Hedrick provided additional
21 comments on Disc Golf; Board Member Marino asked additional questions to Tim Finan
22 regarding Disc Golf; Chair Ellis wished everyone a Happy New Year and is looking forward to
23 welcoming new Recreation Advisory Board members at future meetings; Announced she is open
24 to discuss any possible changes in the format of the RAB meetings.
25 XI. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE
26 The board unanimously selected May 16, 2016.

XII. ADJOURNMENT
Board Member Lane made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Board Member Hedrick seconded.
Motion passed 7-0.
Chair Ellis a djourned the meeting at 6:47p.m.
