CALL TO ORDER 8 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 9 III. ROLL CALL 10 PRESENT: Chair Carol Dutra Ellis (arrived at 6:05 p.m.), Vice Chair Maryanne Hedrick, 11 Bruce Bonvento, Joseph Mullings, Matthew Lane. 12 ABSENT: Christopher Dinolfo. 13 ALSO PRESENT: 14 Council Liaison, Councilmember Maria Marino; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura 15 Schuppert. 16 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS 17 None. 18 V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the January 25,2016 meeting. 19 Board Member Lane made a motion to approve the January 25,2016 Minutes. 20 Board Member Mullings seconded. 21 Motion passed 4-0. 22 VI. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIASON 23 Council Liaison, Councilmember Maria Marino, 24 Reported Design Build of new golf clubhouse has been approved with a budget of $4,500,000. 25 Announced Sisca Construction was awarded the bid and there will be seating for 200 people on 26 the top floor with a projected completion date by Season 2017 ; Attended the dedication of the 27 softball fields to Tory Buckley; Announced 8 Softball Scholarships was awarded by the Amanda 28 Buckley Give a Smile to a Child Foundation; Attended the 90th Birthday party at Pickle Ball 29 Courts for Sally Wilks; Announced at the City Council Special Meeting on April 20, 2016 30 Shady Lakes Boulevard was approved to connect with 117th Court; Reported the City and the 31 Palm Beach County School District are discussing the transfer of ownership of 11 ~ Court from 32 the School District to the City; Reported at the May 5, 2016 City Council Meeting the Avenir 33 project was approved with 55 acres being set aside for Public Park and 60 Acres for 34 Civic/Recreation; Expressed a desire to see the City talk with the National Golf Foundation 35 about the future of golf facilities and what new golfers are looking for; Attended the Florida 36 Department of Transportation Workshop about the Central Boulevard Entrance/Exit Ramp 37 project; Attended the Compassionate Friends Memorial Park Groundbreaking; Announced the 38 Center for Intelligent Building UTC/Otis Elevator will have their groundbreaking on May 17, 39 2016. 40 VII. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON 41 Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura Schuppert 42 Announced the Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Monday May 30, 2016 at 9 am; 43 Announced there was a groundbreaking for the Compassionate Friends Memorial on May 7, 44 2016. 45 VIII. OLD BUSINESS 46 A. Joseph R. Russo Athletic Complex Construction 4 7 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided a brief presentation on the status of the Joseph 48 R. Russo Athletic Complex. School Board ILA-Mutual Use of Facilities 2 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert reported the City of Palm Beach Gardens has executed a 3 Mutual Use of Facilities agreement with the Palm Beach County School District. Discussion 4 ensued. 5 IX. NEW BUSINESS 6 Recreation Director Laura Schuppert gave a brief presentation on Alton Park that will be built 7 in the Alton Development. Discussion ensued. 8 X. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC 9 Sarah Widboom, 1601 Marina Isle Way #304, Jupiter; Stephen Radford Jr., 4186 Magnolia 10 Street, Palm Beach Gardens; Ron Gillman, 1200 Town Center #308, Jupiter; Tim Finan, 35 11 Glencairn Road, Palm Beach Gardens. 12 XI. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD 13 Board Member Lane inquired about staff recommendation or guidance regarding the need for 14 fields for Disc Golf. Discussion ensued. 15 XII.
