CALL TO ORDER 9 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 10 III. ROLL CALL 11 PRESENT: Chair Carol Dutra Ellis, Vice Chair Maryanne Hedrick, Bruce Bonvento, 12 Christopher Dinolfo, George Wicker, Valerie Fennon, Joseph Russo Jr. (sitting in for Matthew 13 Lane). 14 ABSENT: Matthew Lane. 15 ALSO PRESENT: 16 Council Liaison, Councilmember Maria Marino; Recreation Director, Staff Liaison Laura 17 Schuppert. 18 IV. INTRODUCTION OF PBGYAA EXECUTIVE BOARD 19 PBGY AA Executive Board Members Meredith Krar, Nancy Banner, Robert Coleman and Lisa 20 Jalosky introduced themselves. 21 V. INTRODUCTIONS OF PBGY AA BOARD MEMBERS 22 PBGY AA Board Members Damien Murray and Mandy Ratcliff introduced themselves. 23 VI. REPORT ON PBGY AA PROGRAMS AND PARTICIPANTS 24 Recreation Supervisor Tim Ford provided a presentation on the participation in the PBGY AA 25 programs. Discussion ensued. 26 VII. FIELD CLOSURE SCHEDULE DISCUSSION AND PRESENTATION FOR 16/17 27 CALENDAR 28 Park and Grounds Operations Manager Corey Wilder provided a presentation on the closure 29 of the fields for maintenance. Discussion ensued. 30 VIII. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIAISON 31 Council Liaison, Councilmember Maria Marino 32 Reported A venir has been approved and will add 55 acres for a public park and 60 acres for the 33 City's golf course; Ancient Tree will be annexed into the City and 14 acres has been dedicated to 34 the golf course; The Golf Couse Clubhouse renovation was approved and is scheduled to be 35 completed by November 2017; The construction for United Technologies at the intersection ofl- 36 95 and Donald Ross Road is underway; The softball field at Lake Catherine were dedicated to 37 former RAB member Tory Buckley who passed in January; All fire stations are fully staffed; 38 The City acquired 11 ~ Court N. and City made all improvements in time for the new school 39 year; Construction continues on Shady Lakes to improve traffic flow for the neighboring schools, 40 Tennis Center, and the Joseph Russo Athletic Center; 2017 Budget has been approved and the 41 millage rate remains the same. The City implemented a new fee schedule for the use of city 42 facilities; Improvements to City Hall were made which includes a new permanent pavilion 43 dedicated to Vice Mayor Eric Jablin at the Green Market and renovations to Veterans Plaza; City 44 hosted the Cal Ripken IOU world series; Improvements will be made around the fields which 45 will include a second story above the concession stands; City hosted Unity Day in memory of 46 Corey Jones; Thanked PBGY AA Board Member Mandy Rattcliff for the invitation to the 47 softball tournament; Thanked City staff for working together as a family. 48 PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD JOINT MEETING WITH THE PBGYAA 11-21-16 PAGE 1 I IX. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC 2 None. 3 X. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD 4 Board Member Russo thanked the PBGY AA for all their hard work in the community.
