25 in the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation program at the Employee Health and Wellness Fair.
26 Councilmember Matthew Lane:. Attended the PGA Corridor Breakfast; Chamber of
27 Commerce Breakfast; Palm Beach North Government Affairs Meeting; Palm Beach Gardens
28 Medical Center Rehabilitation Center Grand Opening; Palm Beach County League of Cities
29 Luncheon. Announced he would like to discuss the order of the City Council agenda under Items
30 for Council Discussion.
31 Councilmember Carl Woods: Announced Mayor Maria Marino did a great job presenting the
32 State of the City Address; Councilmember Litt did a great job as a panelist for opioid addiction.
33 Thanked Angela Brown and City staff for her work on the pocket park on Holly Drive and
34 Ironwood Road; Thanked Crystal Gibson and Code Enforcement for beautification work in the
35 City; Announced he is working with the Florida Department of Transportation :o remove traffic
36 from PGA Boulevard and Northlake Boulevard.
37 Vice Mayor Mark Marciano: Visited Cooper's Hawk Restaurant; Attended the Palm Beach
38 State College Earth Day Event, Palm Beach Gardens High School Golf Tournament
39 Mayor Maria Marino: Presented the State of the City Address at the PGA Corridor
40 Association Breakfast; Attended the Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant Ribbon Cutting;
41 Metropolitan Planning Organization; Economic Forum Luncheon; Treasure Coast Regional
42 Planning Council meeting; City Health and Wellness Expo at Bums Road Recreation Center;
43 Thanked all the vendors that came to help improve the health of City staff; Question and Answer
44 session with Old Palm residents; Spoke at the Village of North Palm Beach Council and Town
45 of Jupiter Council meeting seeking their support of the development of the Dimict Park by the
46 City of Palm Beach Gardens; Announced Golf Professional Sheri Pia is being profiled by the
47 PGA of America for a TV Program that will air on CBS; Appeared on the Rroio Program for

3 VII. CITY MANAGER REPORT
4 Reported on Saturday April 29, 2017 the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department in cooperation
5 with the Drug Enforcement Administration participated in a Take Back Day, a nationwide
6 prescription drug tum in event where they collected approximately 320 pounds of prescription
7 medication; Announced the Joseph R. Russo Athletic Complex Grand Opening will be Saturday,
8 May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.; GreenMarket is moving to the Summer location, Store Self Storage on
9 May 14, 2017; Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 9:00 am in
10 Veteran's Plaza; Sherri Pia, PGA Pro at Sandhill Crane Golf Club will receive the PGA
11 Southeast Chapter's 2016 Player Development Award and she will be recognized nationally on
12 the CBS Special "Turning Golf Into Profession" on July 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm; The City now has
13 a Speakers Bureau where members of the community can request to have a member of City
14 Council present an overview of what is occurring in the City or a specific topic.

28 Discussion ensued. Vice Mayor Marciano requested information regarding the Charter Review
29 Committee and House Joint Resolution 7105 allowing for an additional $25,000 homestead be
30 presented to City Council for discussion at the June Council meeting. Couacilmember Woods
31 expressed his concerns regarding dealing with negativity when a City Comcilmember meets
32 with residents by themselves.
