Request
A request from KC Palm Beach Gardens, LLC, to approve onsite
artwork and an additional payment into the Art Impact Fee fund for
an artistic bus shelter to meet the AIPP requirement for the
La Posada Senior Living Facility

Lighting and Maintenance
•The art piece will be lit at a minimum from dusk to midnight
•Maintenance will be periodic pressure cleaning with periodic
wax polish to maintain the silicon bronze material
The proposed art piece meets City Code

AIPP LOCATION
Riis Burwell was born in New Haven,Connecticut in 1954.He received his
Bachelor of Fine Arts at Goddard College.Since 1985,Riis has been engaged
in designing and hand-fabricating tabletop,wall,large freestanding and public
art abstract metal sculpture in his Northern California studio.
Riis’hand-fabricated sculptures are created in his 4,000 square foot studio and
are primarily purchased on commission or through galleries and art
consultants.Clients include individual,institutional and corporate art collectors.
His preference is to work in bronze,steel and stainless steel because of their
natural beauty and their suitability for indoor and exterior sculpture.“I prefer to
work on gallery sized pieces first then enlarge them to monumental when
appropriate.“

Artist Riis Burwell will create a custom
sculpture called “Spirit Form Emerging”out
of Silicon bronze for the entrance to La
Posada in the City of Palm Beach
Gardens.
The piece will be 11 ’high,have a 3 1/2’
base and be between 3-5’in diameter at
varying areas.It will be hurricane
resistant.
