6 The regular meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Chair Ellis.

10 Assistant to the City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Kelly Rogers and Andrew Heim.

12 PRESENT: Chair Carol Ellis, Vice Chair Maryanne Hedrick, Bruce Bonvento, Valerie
13 Fennon, Kelly Rogers, Shelly Roe, Andrew Heim (sitting in for George Wicker).

19 VI. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
20 1. Appointment of Chair
21 Board Member Hedrick nominated Bruce Bonvento for Chair.
22 Board Member Roe seconded.
23 Nomination for passed 7-0.
24 2. Appointment of Vice Chair
25 Board Member Hedrick nominated Valerie Fennon for Vice Chair.
26 Board Member Ellis seconded.
27 Nomination passed 7-0.
28 VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the April 17, 2017 meeting.
29 Vice Chair Fennon made a motion to approve the April 17, 2017 Minutes.
30 Board Member Ellis seconded.
31 Motion passed 7-0.
32 VIII. BOARD ORIENTATION
33 Orientation for Board Members was conducted by Assistant City Attorney Abigail Jorandby.

Recreation Director Laura Schuppert gave a presentation for the upcoming Recreation
Department Fall and Winter events. Discussion ensued.
X. OLD BUSINESS
A. Sandhill Crane Golf Club Update
Proiects Director Charlotte Presensky gave a presentation status on the golf course clubhouse
construction and announced a completion date of late December 2017. Discussion ensued.
XI. NEW BUSINESS
a. Gardens Tennis Clubhouse
Recreation Director Laura Schuppert provided a brief update and presentation on the Gardens
Tennis Clubhouse. Discussion ensued.
b. Gardens County North District Park

Sports Director Daniel Prieto provided a brief update and presentation on the leasing of the
District Park from Palm Beach County. Discussion ensued.
Deputy City Manager Jack Doughney announced that Sports Director Daniel Prieto will now
be the staff liaison for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Recreation Director Laura
Schuppert will be the alternate liaison.

XIV. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE
The board unanimously selected January 22, 2018.

Board Member Hedrick seconded.

Chair Bonvento adjourned the meeting at 7:40 p.m.
