6 The regular meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Mayor Marino.
7 I. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
8 II. ROLL CALL
9 PRESENT: Mayor Marino, Vice Mayor Marciano, Council Member Woods, Council
10 Member Lane (left at 7:27 p.m. in observance of Passover), Council Member Litt.
11 ABSENT: None.
12 Mayor Marino requested that the agenda be reordered to have Items VI. Announcements
13 and Presentations be moved up to accommodate distinguished guests and then hear
14 Election and Reorganization.
15 Council Member Lane opposed this request and asked that City Council hear the
16 Reorganization first since he had to leave early due to Passover.
17 Vice Mayor Marciano supported Council Member Lane's request.
18 Council Member Woods supported Mayor Marino's request.
19 Mayor Marino agreed to hear the reorganization followed by announcements then
20 election.
21 Council Member Lane made a motion to move Item IV. Reorganization to Item III. on
22 the agenda.
23 Vice Mayor Marciano seconded.
24 Motion passes 5-0.
25 III. REORGANIZATION
26 The City Clerk read Resolution 12, 2018 by title.
27 3. RESOLUTION 12, 2018 -APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR AND VICE MAYOR. A
28 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM BEACH

34 Vice Mayor Marciano made a motion to appoint Maria Marino for Mayor.
35 Council Member Litt seconded.
36 Motion passes 5-0.
37 2. APPOINTMENT OF VICE MAYOR.
38 Council Member Lane made a motion to appoint Mark Marciano for Vice Mayor.
39 Vice Mayor Marciano requested his name be removed from the Vice Mayor
40 nomination.
41 Council Member Lane withdrew his motion to appoint Mark Marciano for Vice Mayor.
42 Mayor Marino made a motion to appoint Carl Woods for Vice Mayor.
43 Vice Mayor Marciano seconded.
44 Motion passed 5-0.
45 Council Member Marciano made a motion to move Item VI Announcements and
46 Presentations to Item V. on the agenda.

5 It had been brought to the Mayor's attention that a vote had not been taken on Resolution
6 12, 2018. Action was taken immediately following the presentation by Representative
7 Roth.
8 Council Member Litt made a motion to approve Resolution 12, 2018.
9 Vice Mayor Woods seconded.
10 Motion passed 4-0.

32 Council Member Matthew Lane:. Left early due to Passover.
33 Council Member Mark Marciano: Attended the Economic Forum; Palm Beach North
34 Chamber Breakfast; North County Neighborhood Coalition Meeting ; Palm Beach North
35 Health Care Chambers Committee Opioids Panel Discussion; Ground Breaking of the
36 North County District Park; Received phone calls and emails from Steeplechase
37 residents.
38 Vice Mayor Carl Woods: Attended a Kaitlin Kazanjian Memorial Golf tournament in
39 Palm Beach Gardens where participants raised $40 ,000 ; PGA Corridor Meetings and
40 Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce meeting regarding traffic ; Announced several
41 attorneys are running for judges in the next election; Provided an update on Ironwood
42 Park; Attended the Palm Beach North Government Affairs Meeting; Palm Beach North
43 Chamber of Commerce meeting on Natural Disasters.
44 Mayor Maria Marino: Thanked everyone who made the North County District Park a
45 reality; Spoke with Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam a bout the opiod

43 regarding the Florida Department of Transportation Beeline Highway extension that
44 impacts the Steeplechase community. Vice Mayor Woods requested that a resolution be
45 drafted in support of a wall to be built to protect the residents of the Steeplec hase
46 Community. Vice Mayor Woods announced som e of the proceeds from the Kaitlin

1 Kazanjian Memorial Golf tournament was donated to the Palm Beach Gardens Youth
2 Athletic Association Golf Team that was invited to play in a tournament in Scotland.
3 Council Member Litt requested that the City pass a resolution to voice the City's
4 opposition to the statewide preemption for the sell of guns and assault weapons; Council
5 Member Marciano seconded Council Member Litt request to pass a resolution. Council
6 Member Marciano inquired about a succession policy on how Mayor and Vice Mayor is
7 chosen. Discussion ensued. Mayor Marino announced there will be a golf tournament at
8 the Sandhill Crane Golf Course on April 20th and she is hosting an Italian Dinner at the
9 Dancing Crane on April 24th to benefit the golf team that is playing in the tournament in
I O Scotland.
