6 The regular meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mayor Marino.

9 PRESENT: Mayor Marino, Vice Mayor Woods, Council Member Marciano, Council Member
10 Lane, Council Member Litt.
11 ABSENT: None.
12 III. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS
13 Mayor Marino added under item N. Announcement and Presentations C. Update to Junior
14 Ryder Cup Challenge Trip to Scotland and under Item VIII. Consent Agenda added I. Resolution
15 51, 2018, authorizing the Mayor to be the voting delegate for the City of Palm Beach Gardens at
16 the upcoming Florida League of Cities Annual Conference.
17 Council Member Litt made a motion to add Item C under N. Announcement and Presentations
18 and Item I. under VIII. Consent Agenda.
19 Council Member Lane seconded.
20 Motion passed 5-0.
21 IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS
22 a FLORIDA LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAFFIC SAFETY AW ARD .
23 b. MISSION LIFE LINE GOLD PLUS AW ARD FROM THE AMERICAN HEART
24 ASSOCIATION.
25 c. UPDATE TO JUNIOR RYDER CUP CHALLENGE TRIP TO SCOTLAND.
26 Mayor Marino requested that the agenda be reordered to move the City Manager Report before
27 Items of Resident Interest and Board/Committee Reports to accommodate distinguished guests.
28 VII. CITY MANAGER REPORT
29 City Manager Ron Ferris introduced Police Chief Clint Shannon who presented Life Saving
30 Awards to Police Officers Robert Ayala and Raphael Guadalupe for saving a toddler from
31 choking at the Gardens Mall on July 21 , 2018.
32 V. ITEMS OF RESIDENT INTEREST AND BOARD/COMMITTEE REPORTS
33 Council Member Rachelle Litt: Reported while out of town, she observed how the City
34 operates different from other communities. Reported that when returning from an out of town
35 trip when back in Palm Beach Gardens, she commented that nobody does it like we do.
36 Council Member Matthew Lane:.Attended the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce
37 Breakfast Before Hours Event; Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs
38 Committee Meeting
39 Council Member Mark Marciano: Attended the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches
40 Science and Technology Forum; PGA National Resort and Spa Afterschool Charity Event.
41 Vice Mayor Carl Woods: Nothing to report.
42 Mayor Maria Marino: Reported after speaking with Governor Rick Scott at a reception
43 regarding the wall for Steeplechase she received a call from Mike Dew, Secretary, Florida
44 Department of Transportation; City staff and lobbyist are working diligently looking at options
45 for a wall for the community; City Manager Ron Ferris and Police Chief Clint Shannon provided
46 an update on Palm Beach Gardens Police presence in Palm Beach Gardens schools.

28 Agreement for Stop Loss Insurance Coverage.

10 AND TRANSFER TRAFFIC REGULATORY AUTHORITY OVER SAID SEGMENTS TO
11 PALM BEACH COUNTY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER

27 APPROVING AND RATIFYING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE
