17 Announced the City's Purchasing Department received the Annual Achievement of Excellence
18 in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute for the 5th year in a row.
19 Introduced Palm Beach County School District Police Chief Frank Kitzerow to give an update
20 on providing security in Palm Beach County Schools; Presented commendation letters for City
21 staff from members of the public, local schools, and businesses.

18 ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS FOR THE
19 FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2018, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30 , 2019;
20 PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING
21 AN EFFECTIVE DA TE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

28 Council Member Litt made a motion that the "City of Palm Beach Gardens adopt a proposed
29 millage rate of 5.6003 mills, which includes a debt millage rate of .0503 and an operating rate of
30 5.55 mills, which is greater than the roll-back rate of 5.3154 by 4.41%."
31 Vice Mayor Woods seconded.
32 Motion passed 5-0.
33 Council Member Litt made a motion to approve Ordinance 21, 2018 on first reading, adopting
34 a budget for fiscal year 2018/2019 and setting the second and final reading for September 20 ,
35 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers.
36 Vice Mayor Woods seconded.
37 Motion passed 5-0.
