Site Location -4880 Donald Ross Rd, Palm Beach Gardens
(South West corner of Donald Ross Rd. and Central Blvd).
Site Elevations
Scope of Project
•Five large scale glass mosaic art will be commissioned,
acquired and installed at the planned site.
•Dimensions -Each piece will measure 8’H x 6’W.
Location of Artwork
The artwork will be installed on the exterior walls, at the
2nd floor level, as follows:
•Wallgreens -North Elevation (Donald Ross Rd)
•Wallgreens -East elevation (Central Blvd)
•Wallgreens –South Elevation (SE corner of shopping
center, off of Central Blvd)
•Office building -East Elevation (facing Wallgreens)
Budget
•The total budget for the art project is currently estimated
and approved at $58,250* (*Figures are based on
proposals & estimates submitted).
•This amount meets & exceeds PBG city ordinances for
AIPP (1% -$31,000).
Budget -itemized
•Artists/Artwork Acquisition –
Concept developing and renderings, site visit, final design & paintings (5), Mosaic tile color selection,
documentation, artist oversight of installation
•($3000. per painting) $15,000.
•Fabrication by EMosaica
Materials, complete fabrication of mosaic murals using ¾ sq. tile Vitreo Glass
Packing & shipping, fabricator oversight of installation.
(Estimate based on proposal at ave. of $120 per sq. ft) $28,800.
•Installation -($750.00 @ mural x 5) $3,750.
•Lighting -Material, installation & documentation. First year maintenance & replacement parts included. 5
artwork recesses, $4,500.00
•Art Consultant Professional Services -(12% of AIPP required fee) $3,720.
•Art Consultant Professional Services -(8% Developers contribution) $2,480.

Concept
•Contemporary and colorful 2D works of the highest quality will be selected to complement the new structure, which is mediterranean in style and décor. The artwork will be semi abstract in nature and reflect themes related to bio science.
Considerations
•Site’s proximity to Scripps
•Developer’s desire to recognize Scripps presence and contribution to the community & the hope they hold for us and our generations to come.
Medium
Vitroeus Glass Mosaic
The Developers have selected Mosaic to be the medium of
their choice
After careful considerations and communications with the
artists and fabricator, it was recommended & agreed that
vitreos glass is the preffered medium for this project.
•Available in assortment of bright colors
•Can be used to reflect shading effects
•Appropriate size tile, works well both to cover large fields
of color & to capture detailed work.
•Pre cut tiles allow for easier and more cost efficient
fabrication

Installation
A professional installation crew, insured and bonded will be
selected to install the glass mosaic artwork.
Primary concerns:
•Proper installation
•Quality & appropriateness of materials
•Maintenance over time
•Durability and long term enjoyment of the art
Lighting
•A detailed proposal has been submitted by a lighting
company.
•Two halogen fixtures will be installed at the base of each
artwork in recessed area (up -lighting the art).
•Fixtures will illuminate the face of the art, as well as subtle
spill over to the left and right sides.
•The lighting will be used to accentuate the texture of the
art surface and at the same time define the overall portrait.
•Special lenses will be used to provide proper level of
illumination & color spectrum to achieve optimal
enhancement of the artwork during the evening hours

•Born in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paolo, Brazil 1948
•Forida artist specializes in acrylics, oil, water color, air brush sculptures & large size murals.
•Artwork characterized by deep perspective, colorful backgrounds, and unexpected dimensions.
•De Morais’ works are in galleries and collections world -wide, including a portrait of Princess Ann which hangs in Buckingham Palace. His tremendous talent has won him numerous awards and first place in competitions since he has begun his artistic career in Brazil in the 70’s, including an Honorary awarded by the Brazilian Government
