FEBRUARY 23, 2009
The February 23, 2009 regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Tory Buckley.
1. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Tory Buckley, Chair; Tim Frohling, Vice Chair; Carolyn Chaplik; Mary Anne
Hedrick (left at 7:30 p.m.); Amie Schneider; William Sonnenreich; Ernest Volonte.
ABSENT: None.
ALSO PRESENT: Mike Kelly, Recreation Director, Staff Liaison; Tim Kasher, Recreation
Superintendent, Alternate Staff Liaison; Mike Morrow, Operations Director, Construction
Services; Dan Reidy, Operations Director, Public Facilities.

V. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIAISON
None.
VI. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
Staff Liaison Mike Kelly discussed Ordinance 5, 2009.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
Alternate Liaison Tim. Kosher reported and discussed Plant/Lilac Park master planning, park
configuration and parking spaces.
Staff Liaison Mike Kelly gave an update on the District Park and the City's 50th Anniversary
events.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
None.
X. UPDATES
Operations Director Mike Morrow reported on the PGA National Park improvements and the
Ty Foose interactive art piece.
The consensus of the Board was to decline purchasing the art piece entitled Play Ball.
Staff Liaison Mike Kelly reported on the Honda Classic.
Alternate Liaison Tim Kasher reported on Parks status and upcoming events.
Operations Director Dan Reidy reported on Golf Course status, upcoming events and showed
two 30- second commercials.
