PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 9 III. ROLL CALL 10 Members Present: Vice Chair Douglas Pennell, Randolph Hansen, Joy Hecht, Barry Present, i 1 Amir Kanel, Donald Krzan (lst Alternate substituting for Chair Kunkle), Joanne Koerner (2nd 12 Alternate substituting for Michael Panczak). 13 Members Absent: Chair Craig Kunkle, Michael Panczak. 14 Also Present: Planning Manager Nilsa Zacarias, Senior Planner Stephen Mayer, City Attorney R. 15 Max Lohman, Director of Engineering Max Bosso, Associate Engineer Denise Alfonso. 16 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS AND MODIFICATIONS 17 None. 18 V. REPORT BY KARA IRWIN, GROWTH MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR 14 Planning Manager Zacarias reported approval of both the Prosperity Center CVS Signage petition 20 and Gardens Commerce Center PUD amendment at the June 18, 2009 Council meeting. 21 VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 22 None. 23 VII. PUBLIC HEARINGS 24 All those preparing to give testimony were sworn in. 25 No ex parte communication was declared. 26 RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL 27 1. Ex Parte Communication (Public Hearing) 28 REZN -09 -05-000008: Ordinance 21, 2009 — City- Initiated Rezoning of the Loxabatchee 29 Slough Natural Area. A joint City - County initiated request for rezoning of twenty -seven (27) 30 parcels of real property within a portion of the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area from Planned 31 Development Area (PDA) to Conservation (CONS) zoning district. Said parcels comprise 32 approximately ten thousand two hundred seventy -six (10,276) acres, in size; such parcels are 33 owned by Palm Beach County, and are generally located west of the Florida Turnpike, and north 34 of Northlake Boulevard. 35 The following individuals commented on this agenda item: Senior Planner Mayer. 36 Vice Chair Pennell opened the public hearing. 37 Vice Chair Pennell closed the public hearing. 38 Randolph Hansen made a motion for approval. 39 Joy Hecht seconded. 40 Motion passed 7 -0. 41 No ex parte communication was declared. 42 RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL 43 2. Ex Parte Communication (Public Hearing) 44 REIN- 09 415400009: Ordinance 21, 2009 —City - Initiated Rezoning of the Frenchman's 45 Forest Natural Area. A joint City - County initiated request for rezoning of three (3) parcels of real 46 property known as the Frenchman's Forest Natural Area from Planned Development Area (PDA) to 47 Conservation (CONS) zoning district.
