ITEMS OF RESIDENT INTEREST AND BOARD/COMMITTEE REPORTS 20 Vice Mayor Rachelle Litt: Attended the Homeless Coalition Lewis Center luncheon and other 21 constituent meetings. 22 Councilmember Matthew Lane: Attended the 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Palm Beach State 23 and the I st responders ceremony in Boynton Beach, Chamber breakfast, Government Affairs 24 Committee meeting with Palm Beach North Chamber, Economic Council meeting, ground- 25 breaking ceremony for Lifetime Fitness, North County Neighborhood Coalition meeting and other 26 constituent meetings. 27 Councilmember Maria Marino: Attended the Business Development Board Gala, Palm Beach 28 County Cares meeting, City Perspective Government Day event at Leadership at Palm Beach 29 County , Soccer Opening Day at Gardens District Park, Rooney Foundation Bowling Tournament, 30 United Technologies Corporation/Carrier ladies finance business luncheon, Chamber Business 31 Before Hours Mayor's Breakfast, Transportation Planning Agency Governing Board meeting and 32 the Athena Awards luncheon . Spoke at the CREW Women's Empowerment Luncheon and 33 participated in the Place of HopeNillage of Hope ribbon cutting and the Lifetime Fitness ribbon 34 cutting ceremonies. Attended the North County Neighborhood Coalition meeting, League of Cities 35 board meeting, Economic Development meeting for Palm Beach North Chamber, Business 36 Development Board 4th quarter luncheon , Heart of the Game presentation at Gardens District Park, 37 North County Intergovernmental meeting with Hal Valeche, Hats Off to Nonprofits awards dinner , 38 Lewis Center luncheon and other constituent meetings. 39 Councilmember Carl Woods: Attended the Longhorn Steakhouse grand opening and other 40 constituent meetings. Extended appreciation to Executive Assistant to the City Manager, Janice 41 Massie, for her many years of service and integrity as well as her devoted assistance to others. 42 Mayor Mark Marciano: Attended the 9/11 ceremony , Palm Beach County Delegation, Mayor 's 43 Literacy luncheon, Palm Beach North Mayor's Breakfast and Soccer Opening Day and Heart of 44 the Game at Gardens District Park. Participated in both the groundbreaking of Lifetime Fitness 45 and ribbon cutting of Longhorn Steakhouse. Extended recognition to Natalie Crowley, Director 46 of Planning and Zoning, for her attention to detail in emphasizing the City's greenspace and sense 4 7 of community at the Business Development Board meeting. 48 VI. CITY MANAGER REPORT 3 October 6th is the opening day of the outdoor GreenMarket featuring live music every Sunday. 4 On October 13th, the GreenMarket will feature the Fire Rescue Department with training and 5 demonstrations and on October 20th, the Positively Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Walk will 6 be happening and on October 27th, the GreenMarket will be presenting Let's Give them Pumpkin 7 to Talk About with a pumpkin carving contest. The annual Fall Festival will be happening on 8 October 26th with a new location at the Gardens North County District Park. On November 2nd, 9 Sandhill Crane Golf Club will be hosting the Mayor's Veteran Golf Classic with an 8:30am 10 shotgun start and on October 1st, Sandhill Crane Golf Club will be hosting Ladies Nine, Wine and 11 Dine with a 2:30pm shotgun start. 12 Police Chief Clint Shannon, along with Fire Chief Keith Bryer, Deputy Fire Chief James Ippolito, 13 Major Marty Bechtel and Captain Randolph Anderson, delivered a presentation recognizing the 14 heroic actions of Officer Christopher Baez and presented him with the Meritorious Service A ward 15 and the Life Saving A ward. 16 VIII. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 34 THE CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 78.
