RO LL CAL L 9 PRESENT : Mayor Marciano, Vice Mayor Litt, Councilmember Marino, Councilmember Woods, 10 Councilmember Lane, Mayor for a Day Barron Roberts. 11 AB SENT: None. 12 Mayor Marciano introduced Barron Roberts from the Weiss School in his role as Mayor for a Day. 13 Mayor Marciano read his bio into the record. Mayor for a Day Barron Roberts joined the Council 14 on the dais for the entire meeting. 15 III. A DD ITIONS , DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS 16 None. 17 IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS 18 None. 19 V. ITEMS OF RESIDENT INTEREST AND BOARD/COMMITTEE REPORTS 20 Vice Mayor R ach elle Litt : Attended the Palm Beach State Student Safety meeting on February 5, 21 2020 led by the Student Government Association regarding the current bus routes and the safety of 22 students crossing PGA Boulevard to get to class. A second meeting was held on February 28, 2020 23 with Palm Tran and Florida Department of Transportation along with City staff to resolve the issue. 24 Spoke on pesticide use involving the chemical glyphosate, also known as Roundup. Applauded City 25 staff for their discontinued use of pesticides with glyphosate for nearly a year and utilizing Cheetah 26 Pro which does not contain glyphosate. 27 Councilmember Matthew Lane: Attended the Palm Beach State Student Government Association 28 meeting and thanked the students for their exceptional job in presenting their safety concern. 29 Attended the Florida Power & Light Kickoff event, the Honda Classic Kickoff, the Palm Beach State 30 Open House, the Cressey Center Sports opening, the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce 31 breakfast and the North County Neighborhood Coalition annual meeting and breakfast. Expressed 32 condolences on the passing of friend and Art in Public Places Board Member, Zaven Kazandjian. 33 Councilmember Maria M arin o: Thanked all the City staff for their fabulous job in putting together 34 the Trucks 'n Stuff event at the new Operations Center. Attended the Palm Beach Transportation 35 Planning Agency Governing Board meeting, the Southeast Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC) 36 meeting in Broward County, the Honda Classic Women's Forum with Michele Rigby Assad, former 3 7 CIA undercover spy, and the Honda Classic Kickoff Party. Expressed appreciation for all the hard 38 work and dedication that City staff contributed and the Honda Classic team for making a phenomenal 39 economic and charitable event for our City. 40 Councilmember Carl Woods: Attended the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association 41 Softball Opening Day Ceremony, the Frenchman's Creek External Affairs meeting, the North 42 County Neighborhood Coalition annual meeting and breakfast. Reflected on the City's growth and 43 affordable housing initiatives and attended many other constituent meetings in our community. 44 Mayor Mark Marciano: Attended the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association Softball 45 Opening Day Ceremony, the Trucks 'n Stuff event, the Florida Power & Light 35 Mules Launch, 46 the Honda Classic Tournament, the ArtiGras Fine Art Festival, Palm Beach State College meeting, 47 the North County Neighborhood Coalition annual meeting, Frenchman's Creek External Affairs 48 meeting and the Business Development Board meeting. CITY MANAGER REPORT 6 Recognized Building Official, Scott Danielski, Leisure Services Administrator, Charlotte Presensky 7 and Director of Golf, Casey Mitchell for their excellent service and direct involvement in the 8 facilitation of the Honda Classic. Provided an update on the schedule of road closures from the 9 Brightline Virgin Train construction. Presented a report on the Coronavirus, COVID-19, including 10 prevention measures, the City 's preparations and public information website updates. 11 VIII. RESOLUTION 1, 2020-AGREEMENTWITH THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF 15 ELECTIONS FOR ELECTION SERVICES. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 16 CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE 17 AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF 18 ELECTIONS FOR VOTE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT USE AND ELECTION SERVICES; 19 PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 20 c. ITEMS FOR COUNCIL ACTION/DISCUSSION 33 Vice Mayor Litt thanked Mayor Marciano for his year of service and stated her desire for the Mayor 34 nomination at the April 2, 2020 City Council meeting. 35 Councilmember Lane thanked Mayor Marciano for his exceptional job in guiding the City Council 36 meetings and his excellent service to the community. 37 Councilmember Marino expressed her gratitude for the comradery of all Councilmembers and 38 thanked Mayor Marciano for his year of service. 39 Councilmember Woods commended Mayor Marciano for running the City Council meetings 40 smoothly and effectively and for his diligent job of serving the residents. 41 Mayor Marciano thanked everyone for their kind words. All Councilmembers work well together 42 and appreciated the opportunity to serve in the role of Mayor. 43 XII.
