6 The regular meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Fennon.
7 I. CALL TO ORDER
8 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
9 III. ROLL CALL
10 PRESENT: Chair Valerie Fennon, Vice Chair Kelly Rogers, Gregory Chetta, Kendra
11 Haywood, Andrew Heim, Matthew Zudans and Nicholas Russo (sitting in for Dane Leitner).
12 ABSENT: None.
13 ALSO PRESENT:
14 Staff Liaison, Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto, Director of Public Services,
15 Cory Wilder, Operations Manager, Monette Preston.
16 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS
17 None.
18 V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the November 18, 2019 meeting.
19 Vice Chair Rogers made a motion to approve the November 18, 2019 minutes.
20 First Alternate Board Member Russo seconded.
21 Motion passed 7-0.
22 VI. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
23 Staff Liaisons, Operations Manager Leisure Services, Monette Preston, Director of Public
24 Services, Cory Wilder and Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto
25 A. Spring/Summer Events and Recap
26 Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto introduced Operations Manager Leisure
27 Services, Monette Preston who gave a recap of 2019 Fall and Winter event activities and a
28 presentation for the 2020 Recreation Department Spring and Summer event schedule. Discussion
29 ensued.
30 B. Sports Turf Management Conference
31 Director of Public Services, Cory Wilder gave an announcement that the National Sports Turf
32 Management Conference selected Gardens District Park to be a host and showcase the new park
33 facilities.
34 VII. OLD BUSINESS
35 A. City Parks Capital Improvement Proiect Update
36 Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto provided an update on the City Parks
37 Capital Improvement Projects for 2020. Discussion ensued.
38 Public Comment: Faith Myer, 4219 Oak Street, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418.
39 VIII. NEW BUSINESS
40 A. Proposed Joseph Russo Park Playground Replacement
41 Director of Public Services, Cory Wilder informed the board that the funding for the replacement
42 of the playground at Joseph Russo Park is coming from the Capital Improvement Budget for this
43 fiscal year and is scheduled to be on the February 6, 2020 City Council agenda. Discussion ensued.
44 B. Proposed Budget Amendments
45 Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto reported to the board that the tennis
46 center expansion project has been expedited. Discussion ensued.
47 C. Cressey Sports Performance Opening

Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto announced that Cressey Sport Performance
Training Center is now opened for our residents.
IX. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC
None.
X. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD
Board Member Russo presented a liability concern regarding tree root stumps on the 5K trail in
Gardens District Park. Discussion ensued.
XI. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE
The board unanimously selected May 18, 2020 as the next quarterly meeting date.

XII. ADJOURNMENT
Board Member Rolzers made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Board Member Chetta seconded.
Motion passed 7-0.
Chair Fennon adjourned the meeting at 6:43 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on May 18, 2020. (The May 18, 2020 meeting was cancelled, and
the next regular meeting will be held on November 16, 2020).
