REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 16, 2010
The regular meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by Chair Cable Neuhaus.

PRESENT: Chair Cable Neuhaus, Vice Chair David Porter, Diane Cappella (arrived 5:36
p.m.), Jennifer O'Brien, Dianne Sacchetti, Meriel Bryan (1 st Alternate sitting for Susan
Tornabene).
ABSENT: Susan Tornabene, Mark Giuliani.
ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney R. Max Lohman; Growth Management Administrator, Staff
Liaison Kara Irwin; Resource Manager, Alternate Staff Liaison Allyson Black; Planner Kathryn
Wilson.

V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
David Porter made a motion for approval of the October 20, 2009 and November 17, 2009
minutes.
Meriel Bryan seconded.
Motion passed 5 -0.
VI. ITEMS BY COUNCIL LIAISON
None.
VII. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON
Growth Management Administrator, Staff Liaison Kara Irwin reported that City Attorney
R. Max Lohman will be advising the Art in Public Places Advisory Board regarding the Bus
Shelter Selection Committee recommendations due to the passing of Attorney Robert Rosillo.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS
Lake Catherine RFP
Growth Management Administrator, Staff Liaison Kara Irwin reported that a joint public
workshop of the Art in Public Places Advisory Board and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
will be held on March 15, 2010 and described the public workshop process.

1. DOWNTOWN AT THE GARDENS
Presented by: Donaldson Hearing, Cotleur and Hearing; Kevin Berman, Downtown at the
Gardens; Kate Blakeley, Carousel Works, Inc.

2. 9/11 MEMORIAL ART PLAZA
Staff Presentation: Planner Kathryn Wilson.
Presented by: Artist Mark Fuller.
Public Comment: Pat Hughey, 9120 Reed Drive, Palm Beach Gardens.

David Porter made a motion designating Chair Cable Neuhaus to be the contact person for
artist Mark Fuller.
Diane Cappella seconded.
Motion passed 6 -0.
RFP 2009 -010 ARTISTIC BUS SHELTERS
Staff Presentation: Growth Management Administrator, Staff Liaison Kara Irwin.
Discussion ensued.
David Porter made a motion to accept the Bus Shelter Selection Committee recommendation to
the Art in Public Places Advisory Board to reject all proposals and that the same
recommendation be made to City Council.
Diane Cappella seconded.
Motion passed 6 -0.
David Porter made a motion to enter into direct negotiations with the highest ranking artist,
Mark Fuller, to go forward with designs for both PGA Boulevard and Military Trail.
Dianne Sacchetti seconded.
Motion passed 6 -0.
David Porter made a motion in favor of Chair Cable Neuhaus presenting the position of the
Art in Public Places Advisory Board to City Council.
Diane Cappella seconded.
Motion passed 6 -0.
