CALL TO ORDER 9 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 10 III. ROLL CALL 11 PRESENT: Keith Ahronheim, Matthew Kamula, Jason Moraes, Nicholas Russo, and First 12 Alternate Ron McElhone. 13 ABSENT: Chair Kelly Rogers, Vice Chair Bobby Wunderlich, and Matthew Zudans. 14 ALSO PRESENT: 15 Leisure Services Administrator, Charlotte Presensky; Staff Liaison, Deputy Leisure Services 16 Administrator, Daniel Prieto; Director of Public Services, Cory Wilder; Operations Manager Leisure 17 Services, Monette Preston; Operations Manager Athletics, Tim Ford and Recreation Supervisor, Amy 18 Stepper. 19 IV. ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS 20 None. 21 V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES from the January 23, 2023, meeting. 22 Board Member Ahronheim made a motion to approve the January 23, 2023, minutes. 23 Board Member Moraes seconded. 24 Motion passed 5-0. 25 VI. ITEMS BY STAFF LIAISON 26 A. Spring/Summer Events 27 Operations Manager Leisure Services, Monette Preston discussed the spring and summer 28 community events, including the Glow with the Flow Egg Hunt, Autism Awareness Month for April, 29 the Memorial Day ceremony, and the Gardens GreenMarket. 30 B. Operational Highlight — Park Monitor Program 31 Operations Manager Athletics, Tim Ford presented the Park Monitor Program providing customer 32 service and facility management to the City. Discussion ensued. 33 VII. OLD BUSINESS 34 A. Capital Improvement Plan Update 35 Second Alternate Faith Myer arrived at 1:45 p.m. and took a seat on the dais. 36 Director of Public Services, Cory Wilder presented project updates to Lake Catherine Park and 37 Russo Park pickleball courts. Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto provided a 38 building update on the main pool renovation. Discussion ensued. 39 B. GardensArt Program Update 40 Recreation Supervisor, Amy Stepper presented an update on the GardensArt Program, including 41 the rotating art exhibits in City buildings, artist receptions, the adult student art exhibition, the 42 upcoming summer employee photography exhibit, adult program series and classes, and the planning 43 for summer Camp Gardens. 44 VIII. NEW BUSINESS 45 A. City Bond Issue 46 Leisure Services Administrator, Charlotte Presensky presented an overview of the Burns Road 47 Community Center renovation project and the planning for future service as well as the proposed 48 pickleball plan. New Park Facilities Director of Public Services, Cory Wilder presented the completion of the bank shot basketball courts at Gardens Park and the opening of the Butterfly Garden at Oaks Park. C. Miracle League Announcement Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto announced the City will be hosting the National Miracle League All -Star Game on November 3-5, 2023. IX. COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC None. X. COMMENTS BY THE BOARD None. XI. SET QUARTERLY MEETING DATE The Board selected August 21, 2023, as the next quarterly meeting date. ADJOURNMENT Board Member Kamula made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Board Member Ahronheim seconded. Motion passed 6-0. Deputy Leisure Services Administrator, Daniel Prieto adjourned the meeting at 2:24 p.m. The next meeting will be held on August 21, 2023.
