EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD
DECEMBER 12, 2001
The December 12, 2001 meeting of the Education Advisory Board of the City of Palm
Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order at 7:10 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the
Municipal Complex located at 10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
ROLL CALL: The following members were in attendance: Anne Berg; Judy Hanrahan;
Murtz Kakli; Jim Panoch; Jan Porter and Ron Sadaka.
Student Julie Hackman and Guest Dan Smith were also present
MINUTES: Minutes of the November 14, 2001 were unanimously approved, with the
note that last months Guest speaker was Bill Malone, Chief Operating Officer of Palm
Beach County Schools
COMMITTEE REPORTS: School boundaries were discussed. Dan Smith gave a
report on School Board activities. Implementation of partnership programs, such as
volunteer, teacher or student recognition awards, was discussed, including criteria for
nominations, actual awards and presentations. A complete plan will be presented at the
next meeting.
SAC REPORTS: Reports from the following schools were given: Palm Beach Gardens
Elementary; Timber Trace Elementary; Watson B. Duncan Middle; Palm Beach Gardens
High; Suncoast High; and Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. School of the Arts.
OLD BUSINESS: "Buckle -Up" Signs /Banners were shown to the members and
distributed to the representatives of the schools that did not already have them.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to discuss the meeting was
adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
