Old Business (no record tape)
a) City Wide Roadway Beautification Plan — City Forester Mark Hendrickson
introduces the plan with a brief history to bring the new members up to
speed, since the last presentation to the Committee in December 2000. The
old plan was reviewed once at the Planning & Zoning Commission. The
new plan involves changing the City's Land Development Regulation with a
text change that adopts the FDOT and Palm Beach County landscaping,
landscape installation and landscape maintenance standards as a City
standard. It also adopts a plant palette list and pictures.
Jeff Renault asked about the scope of the plan because it appeared to
include existing developments as well as future developments. Mr.
Hendrickson confirmed that, if approved, this code would be City wide., He
emphasized that some of the old neighborhoods and development
projects would be nonconforming.
Mr. Hendrickson explained how presently PGA Boulevard is going to
change because it does not meet current FDOT standards. The City streets
need standards for safety reasons.
The Committee decided to continue reviewing the plan and tabled the
discussion until the next meeting in October.
