MINUTES
FEBRUARY 10, 2003
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on February 10, 2003. The meeting was
called to order at 7:05 P.M.
II. ROLL CALL
Members Present: Tory Buckley, Mary Ann Hedrick, Dave Lill, Bert Premurso, Wendy
Walker, Michael Axelrod, George Schmidt, Phil Milton, unexcused.
The chair indicated that a letter was submitted from Michael Axelrod of his resignation;
he didn't like his position as an alternate.
III. BOND REFERENDUM
Letting people be aware that a Bond Issue will be on the March I 1 m Election
Opinion poll -50/50
Pooled 400 people to vote yes for the Bond Issue.
Flyers are being disturbed to residents regarding the Bond Issue; it states that basic
information about the bond, cost and language and why it happened and on the reverse
side shows the map.
On March 9t° a Rock the Boat Concert will be held to draw attention for people to vote;
from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
On February 26a` last public information meeting will be held at 6:30 P.M.
The Third Wednesday in March has been table (spring break), will resume in April
Make note that there are Charter changes on the ballot.
IV. COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS
Indicated that we look at every neighbor, vacant lot that is to small to build on, to be used
as a playground or a sitting area, and bring it back to the board.
When a resident gave comments, he gave that audience some negative comments, and no
one answered from the board on our defense.
