Re: Palm Beach Gardens / t rban Park
Glatting Jackson Project #11648.04
Dear Sue,
Attached are copies of the Conceptual Plans we prepared for the Urban Park site
adjacent to the Gardens Mall, Our primary objectives for the paric include:
is • Creating a public gathering place
• Connecting commercial, institutional and residential land uses to create the
critical mass needed for a "town center"
s Expanding the City's system of pedestrian/bicycle- friendly local streets
The Plans are not intended to represent a specific design solution, but arc intended
to convey certain elements and principles that should be incorporated into the site
developer's design. These elements include:
• Connections from the park to surrounding land uses (residential, commercial,
office areas) via a system of narrow public streets, sidewalks and bike paths.
Connections through private parking lots are not sufficient.
• Views to the lake and park entrances from the surrounding streets
• Access to public transit
• A mix of uses around the lake, including office, residential, retail and first
floor shops, restaurants and cafes
• Public access to the park directly from adjacent public streets; access through
private shops and parking lots is not sufficient
• An interactive playground and tot lot
• Attractive site furnishings and public art
• An interactive fountain
a An amphitheater and/or public gathering space
