HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes EAB 091797City of Palm Beach Gardens Education Advisory Board Facilities/Boundaries Sub - Committee September 17, 1997 - 7:30 p.m. Riverside Community Center Minutes Board Members Present: Alan Adams, Wayne Anderson, Scott Blake, Councilman Eric Jablin, and Lazarus Weiner The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. The agenda was reviewed and approved by unanimous vote. Discussion was held relating to the major components of HB2121. Each of the five (5) sections were discussed and reviewed at length. HB2121 recommendations were formulated from the list that came from the Tri- County meeting with one revision. The revision was to remove concurrency from the legislation as it is not needed statewide. Local determination for school concurrency should be the decision of the local voters. The board members present were in consensus with the attached recommendations. • A motion was made by Wayne Anderson that the sub - committee recommend to the Education Advisory Board approval of the recommendations attached. Seconded by Lazarus Weiner. Motion carried 4 -0 to approve the recommendation. It was the opinion of the sub - committee that these recommendations would be discussed and voted on at the September 29, 1997 Educational Advisory Workshop. The workshop will be held at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. The recommendations will then be forwarded to the City Council for official action. Without any further business to discuss, the sub - committee meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Scott A.
