Education Advisory Board
Facilities/Boundaries Sub - Committee
September 17, 1997 - 7:30 p.m.
Riverside Community Center
Minutes
Board Members Present: Alan Adams, Wayne Anderson, Scott Blake, Councilman Eric
Jablin, and Lazarus Weiner
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. The agenda was reviewed and approved by
unanimous vote.
Discussion was held relating to the major components of HB2121. Each of the five (5) sections
were discussed and reviewed at length.
HB2121 recommendations were formulated from the list that came from the Tri- County meeting
with one revision. The revision was to remove concurrency from the legislation as it is not
needed statewide. Local determination for school concurrency should be the decision of the local
voters. The board members present were in consensus with the attached recommendations.
• A motion was made by Wayne Anderson that the sub - committee recommend to the Education
Advisory Board approval of the recommendations attached. Seconded by Lazarus Weiner.
Motion carried 4 -0 to approve the recommendation.
It was the opinion of the sub - committee that these recommendations would be discussed and
voted on at the September 29, 1997 Educational Advisory Workshop. The workshop will be held
at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. The recommendations will then be forwarded to the City Council for
official action.
Without any further business to discuss, the sub - committee meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Scott A. Blake
