HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Local Planning Agency meeting 041896LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS APRIL 18, 1996 The Regular Meeting of the Local Planning Agency of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Russo at 7:30 P.M. in the Assembly Room of the Municipal Complex, 10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ROLL CALL The Deputy City Clerk called the roll and present were Mayor Russo, Vice Mayor Furtado, and Councilman Clark. Councilman Jablin arrived at 7:35 P.M. Councilwoman Monroe was absent from the meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Councilman Clark, seconded by Vice Mayor Furtado, to approve the minutes of the 6/1/95 and the 7/20/95 Local Planning Agency regular meetings. Motion carried by unanimous vote of 3 -0. PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Russo declared the Public Hearing open, which was duly advertised 4/11/96 and held on the intent of recommendation to the City Council for Consideration of Transmittal to Florida Department of Community Affairs for their Determination of Compliance /Consistency with Statutory Requirements, re: the Draft Evaluation and Appraisal Report of the City of Palm Beach Gardens Comprehensive Plan. After review by staff, discussion by City Council members included direction to staff to LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY REGULAR MEETING, 4/18/96 PAGE 2 include designation of mobile home parks as affordable housing. Vice Mayor Furtado suggested that information regarding tie -down standards for mobile homes be shared with the mobile home parks. JERRY SILVERS Mr. Silvers explained that he was General Manager and a resident of The Meadows Mobile Home Park, and spoke as representative of the owners in that park, who strongly recommended that the Agency support the staff recommendation to make zoning on their property compatible with that of their neighbors to allow its development at some point to its highest and best use. DR. Frederick Weaver Dr. Weaver stated that he withdrew his opportunity to speak. There being no further comments from the public, Mayor Russo declared the Public Hearing closed. Motion was made by Vice Mayor Furtado to recommend to the City Council transmittal of the report as amended with direction from the City Council. Motion was seconded by Councilman Clark and passed by unanimous vote of 4 -0. There being no further business to discuss, motion was made by Vice Mayor Furtado, seconded by Councilman Clark, and unanimously carried by vote of 4 -0 to adjourn the meeting at 8:43 P.M.
