GENERAL EMPLOYEES PENSION FUND
MAY 22, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 2:10 P.M. In attendance were
Board Members Win Weldon, Jack Hanson and Judy Fox; attorney
Scott Christiansen and Pension members Elinor Adams, Jim Albano,
Barbara Byerly, Richard Cameron, Pete Corrias, Danny Bembry, John
Deyounks, Bill Holland, Sam Martin, Dee Schneider, Ike Talton,
Mark Vadas and Maggie Wederath.
Jack Hanson motioned that the minutes of the April 29, 1996
meeting be approved, Judy seconded.
The purpose of this meeting was to explain to the membership all
of the changes that the Board was proposing (list attached) for
the plan, and in particular how their contributions could be
reduced to 4% from the current 6% if the vacation and sick leave
pay out was deleted from the computations of the average monthly
salary. Win Weldon also explained how they could invest the 2%
savings in deferred compensation if they so desired.
It was decided that instead of voting at the meeting, a ballot
would be put in the 5/31/96 pay check, thus giving everyone time
to discuss it among themselves before making their decision.
Win Weldon approved payment of Christiansen & Dehner's invoice
for $790.00.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
