HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Local Planning Agency Meeting 051895LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS May 18, 1995 The Regular Meeting of the Local Planning Agency of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Russo at 7:30 P.M. in the Assembly Room of the Municipal Complex, 10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ROLL CALL The Deputy City Clerk called the roll and present were Mayor Russo, Vice Mayor Furtado, Councilwoman Monroe, Councilman Jablin, and Councilman Clark. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Vice Mayor Monroe, seconded by Councilwoman Furtado, to approve the minutes of the May 19, 1994 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. City Attorney Baird advised the City Council that no public hearing must be advertised in order for the Local Planning Agency to convene solely to approve the minutes of a meeting; therefore, the consensus of the City Council was to approve the minutes at the first opportunity available rather than to wait for a year. PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Russo declared the Public Hearing open, which was duly advertised 5/4/95 and 5/11/95 and held on the intent of consideration of transmittal of amendments to the LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY MEETING, 5/18/95 Comprehensive Land Use Plan /Map for the City of Palm Beach Gardens to Florida Department of Community Affairs for their Determination of compliance /Consistency with Statutory Requirements (95 -1 Round of Amendments). City Planner Kim Glas summarized the Comprehensive Land Use Amendments as follows: 1. Land use change for the DiVosta One -Acre Parcel on PGA Boulevard from Residential Medium Density with an underlying zoning category of RM to Professional (PO). Ms. Glas explained that staff recommended approval of this amendment and would look for parkway easement and considerations for the PGA Guidelines when submitted for PUD; 2. Annexation and land use change from County Industrial to City Industrial with 15 acres of commercial frontage for the Campbell Property located east of the City's golf course and the cemetery on Northlake Boulevard. Ms. Glas explained that staff recommended denial; or approval only of the annexation portion of this application with the land use to remain County Industrial until visioning and EAR processes were completed. 3. Changes to the Projected 2010 Traffic Circulation and LOS Map to depict the County's alignment of Hood Road were recommended by staff. LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY MEETING, 5/18/95 PAGE 3 4. Annexation and land use change from County UR -5 to City RL of the Sherman Property located on Prosperity Farms Road was recommended by staff. There being no comments from the public, Mayor Russo declared the Public Hearing closed. Vice Mayor Furtado moved approval of the recommendations to City Council of Consideration of Transmittal of Amendments to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan /Map for the City of Palm Beach Gardens to Florida Department of Community Affairs for their Determination of Compliance /Consistency with Statutory Requirements (95 -1 Round of Amendments). Motion was seconded by Councilman Jablin. Councilman Clark verified that the recommendation was denial in regard to the transmittal of the Campbell Property amendment. City Attorney Baird questioned which Exhibit A was applicable; City Planner Glas explained that a new Exhibit A would be presented when this matter was submitted to the City Council. Motion carried by a vote of 5 -0. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, motion was made by Councilwoman Monroe, seconded by Vice Mayor Furtado, and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 P.M.
