PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
DECEMBER 6, 1994
The City of Palm Beach Gardens Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met Tuesday, December
6, 1994 at 7 :30 P.M. at the Riverside Community Center.
Members present included John Elsner, Ronnye Sands, Joanne Steele, Joe Kuveikis, Rick
DeKeyser, Y. A. A. Vice President, Brian McLaughlin, Acting Director/Parks and Recreation,
and Dick Cameron, Superintendent/Parks. Not present: Chairman Jeff Sabin, Bette Bates, Sandy
Gottlieb, Don Babin, Y.A.A. President, Councilman Joseph Russo.
Prior to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting being called to order, several residents
of The Oaks held an open discussion with Brian McLaughlin, Acting Director/Parks and
Recreation, regarding plans for the development of Oaks Park. They object to a pavilion with
tables and grills and to a public restroom. They favor an enhanced tot lot similar to Jupiter's
Imagination Station. According to the representation at this meeting, the residents are willing to
• fund what they want. It was brought to their attention that a committee is needed to formulate a
survey to include a cross section of opinions from PBG residents in the surrounding
developments not just The Oaks.
In the absence of Chairman Jeff Sabin, John Elsner called the meeting to order and presided.
