HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 091092CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS SEPTEMBER 10, 1992 The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Mayor Martino in the Assembly Room of the Municipal Complex, 10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ROLL CALL The City Clerk called the roll and present were Mayor Martino, Vice Mayor Russo and Councilwoman Monroe. Councilman Kiselewski was not in attendance as he was out of town. 12/1993 ISCAL YEAR BUDGET Mayor Martino stated the City's proposed 1992/1993 Fiscal Year Budget included a reduced millage with a reduction rate of 3.2% from the rollback rate. Mayor Martino complimented the City Manager and staff in their preparation of the budget. ORDINANCE 21, 1992 Mayor Martino declared the Public Hearing open, which was duly advertised by the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's Office via proposed tax bills, re: Ordinance 21, 1992, Levying a tax on real and personal property located within the corporate limits of the City of Palm Beach Gardens for the year ending 12/31/92; affixing a total valuation thereon and tax rate thereon CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING, 9/10/92 ADJOURNMENT APPROVAL for said year; adopting a Fiscal Budget for the Fiscal Year beginning 10/1/92 and ending 9/30/93, inclusive; appropriating funds for expenditures. There being no comments from the public, Mayor Martino declared the Public Hearing closed. The City Manager stated the City's tax base for this budget is $2,411,314,538, and the millage rate of 3.370 included 3.306 general operating and .064 debt service. The City Manager further stated that the expenditures for this year are 1.2 million dollars (8.3%) above the previous year. The City Manager stated that some of the increase was due to an additional 4 people in the work force, charges for garbage collection, increase in CPI, salary increases and the cost of insurance. ,,There being no rther business to discuss, wa adjourned at :07 P.M. the meeting MAYOR .
