HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 052688ChTY "COUNCIL; t�GUL�R MEET1�lG The Regular Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order by Vice Mayor Martino at 9.08 Q y „ sub,�ec,;;snt to a Workshop Meeting, in the Assembly Room of the Municipal Complex, 10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. ME= The Deputy City Clerk called the roll and present were: Vice Mayor Martino, Councilman Aldred and Councilman Kiselewski. Mayor Feeney was not in attendance as he was out of town. Per the recommendation of the City Manager, the City Council unanimously approved the purchase of a "Ford” -make Pick -Up Truck for the Recreation Department per the bid received and read at the City Council's Regular Meeting of May 15, 1988. The money will oe taken from Account 14- 64.10. Mr. John Honeywell, 12726 53rd Place North, West Palm Beach, addressed the City Council requesting permission to sell "sparklers" at 2 shopping center locations in Palm Beach Gardens owned �y Mr. Lassiter. ,r. Honeywell stated his business would be operated out of tents. it was the concensus of the City Council that this request be denied o ?_ The City Manager stated he gave each Council member a letter of items discussed at "Decisions '88" that he received from Mr. Kevin Foley. It w,s; the concensus of the City Council that the Mayor write a letter to Mr. Foley thanking him for the information with a copy to the Municipal League, Sign Code typed and submitted to the City Council within a week. I, response to Councilman Kiseiewski, the City Manager stated the City Engineer should have the Traffic Performance Standard for the City of Palm Beach Gardens submitted in time for the Council's meeting of June 2, 1988. Councilwoman Monroe expressed her disappointment with the results of the Board of County Commissioners meeting yesterday where it was decided to remove bridges from their plans for the North County area. 1 1 1 •w•a Vice Mayor Martino declared the Public Hearing open. There being no com- ments from the public, Vice Mayor Martino declared the Public Hearing closed. The City Council will consider second reading and adoption of Ordinance 25, 1988, at their Regular Meeting of June 16, 1988. Per a unanimous vote of the City Council the Deputy City Clerk read, by title only, on first reading, Ordinance 26, 1988, annexation of 2,254.88 acres, more or less, within Section 34- 41 -42, Section 3- 42 -42, Section 4- 42 -42, Section 5 -42 -42 and Section 33- 41 -42; and located, in general, between PGA Boulevard & north of Hood Road and the C -18 Canal & the Florida Turnpike. Per a unanimous vote of the City Council the Deputy City Clerk read, by title only, on first reading, Ordinance 28, 1988, annexation of 755.97 L M , , a - 188. The City Counc - will consider second reading and adoption of Ordinance ?B, 1 93L, at their Regular Meeting of June 16, 1988. Councilwoman Monroe stated at that time she will consider voting to table this Public Hearing until aaditional annexation petitions would be able to simultaneously be Prosperity Farms Road. The City Council will consider second reading and adoption of Ordinance 29, 1983, at their Regular Meeting of June 16, 1988.
