HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 030785 with P&ZSPECIAL JOINT MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS MARCH 7, 1985 A Special Joint Meeting of the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Site Plan & Appearance Review Committee was held to discuss the duties and responsibilities of the boards during the processing of projects. All members of the Council were present. The members present from the Planning and Zoning Commission were: Gary Krielow, Donald Vogel, and Nancy Laurie. The members present from the Site Plan and Appearance Review Committee were: Jeffrey Ornstein, Lynn Huber, Jack Horner, Jack White, Richard Rogers, Jay Hasner, and James Hallenbeck. The members of the City Council spoke to the boards addressing some of their concerns. Some of their thoughts were that the Council needs major questions about PUD's answered before the plans are presented to them, there should be more coordination between the boards and the city staff (i.e. Ken Stapleton, Administrative Planning Coordinator, and Jonathan Iles, City Forester /Code Enforcement Officer). They felt there was a definite need for better communication between all boards and the administration. The board members addressed the Council with some concerns they have about the responsibilities of their boards. There was concern that the responsibilities of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Site Plan and Appearance Review Committee overlapped in some aspects. They felt that some projects were not as complete as they should be when they reach the prospective board. There being no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
