HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 122084CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS OECFrsER 20, 1984 T'i,, Pegular Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Mike Martino, at 8:00 P.M., in the Assembly Room, 105p� North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ROLL CALL: T-r- roil was called by the City Clerk and present were. Mayor Martino, Vice Mayor Monroe, Santa Claus (alias Councilman Aldred), Councilman Kiselewski, and Councilman Feeney. City Manager John Orr and Attorney William Brant were also in attendance. MI:NVTES: The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 6, 1984, and Special Regular tdeetinp or December 13, 19814, were approved by the Council, as written. ANNO-)NCrMENTS: Mawr Vartino announced that the City's Administrative Offices will be closed Morroay, December 24th, and Tuesday, December 25th, in observance of "Christmas ". PROCLAMATIONS: Mayor Martino read Proclamations proclaiming January, 1985, "National Volunteer PIOO-' Donor Month" and "Arbor Month ". P,EFORTS: Ccuncy_ man Kiselewski, member, reported on yesterday's meeting of the Palm COUNCILMAN Beach County Solid Waste Authority. K - SELEWSkI VICE MAYOR Vace Mayor Monroe, member, reported on the meeting yesterday of the Area MONROF Planning Board. She also reported that our Recreation and Parks Director, Mr. Douglas Hood, was presented the "Good Government Award" by the Palm Beach Gardens Chamber of Commerce. TA CLAUS Santa Claus (alias Councilman Aldred) presented Christmas presents he found LEAS 000NCI1 - MAN ALDRED) appropriate to the individual members of the City Council, the City Attorney, and the City Clerk. COUNCILMAN Councilman Feeney suggested, and the other members of the Council concurred, FEENEY that the wife of the late Councilman Kiedis be sent a Christmas bouquet from the City. RESOLUTIONS: By the concurrence of the Council, the City Clerk read, by title only, RESOLUTION 42, Resolution 42, 1984, reappointing "Judy Hood" and appointing "Kevin Foley" ,members of the City's Beautification and Environmental Committee. Resolution 4 ?, 1984, was unanimously adopted by the Council. RESOLUTION 43, By the concurrence of the Council, the City Clerk read, by title only, ice.._.— __.... T Resolution 43, 1984, reappointing "Susan Ford" and appointing "Carolyn Rawlins" memoers and appointing "Edward Elgin, Sr." an alternate member of the City's "Brit SY-stem Board. Resolution 43. 1984, was unanimously adopted by the Ccun�il. RESOLUTION 44, By the concurrence of the Council, the City Clerk read, by title only, 1984 Resolution 44, 1984, reappointing "Steve Brock" and 'Donald Vogel" members and "'JPncy Laurie" and alternate member of the City's Planning and Zoning COmmiSsll'). Resolution 44, 1984, was unanimously adopted by the Council. RESCLUT70N 5°, 8Y h, concurrence of the Council, the City Clerk read, by title only, 1954 Resolution 59, 1984, reappointing "John Caporini", "Betsy Yerry ", and "Sue 4rcher" and appointing "Donna Wilks ", "Cynthia Cody ", and "Kevin Feeney" memn?rs of the City's Recreation Advisory Board. Resolution 59, 1984, was unanimously adopted by the Council. CITY COUNCIL REGULAR (FETING, 12120184 PAGE 3 RESOLUTION' 67, Mr. Robert Frain, Senior Vice President of the "PGA National ", addressed the I� Council pursuant to the intent of Resolution 67, 1984, approving the amendments propose., by Sabatello hevelopment Corporation to the architectural elevations and landscaping plans for the "Townhomes of Glengary" multi- family PUD created 1115181 by Resolution 66, 1981, on Tracts M -14, M -15, and M -16 of the "PGA National" PCD. N,r. Fre.in presented the now- proposed coloration of the buildings, taupe - colored stucco with wood cedar trim. They no longer propose to use the color of butterscotch, per the suggestion of the City. Additionally, Mr. Frain referenced the December 17, 1984, communication of the City's contracted Forester; and advised that per his recommendation, they will be substituting Ficus Rubignosa (Cuban Laurel Fig) for the Ficus Benjamina shown on the landscape drawings for the project.
