called to order by the !1ayor, Dick Aldred, at 8:00 P.M., in the Assembly Room,
10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and was opened with
the Pled, -Ic of Allegiance to the flag.
ROLL CALL: The roll was called by the City Clerk and present were: mayor Aldred,
Co,u:cilman Martino, Councilwoman Monroe, and Councilman Kiselewski.
Vice ;Mayor Kiedis was not in attendance. Also present we,-,-: City Manager,
John Orr and City Attorney, William Brant.
(MINUTES: The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 4, 1983 were approved unanimously.

[7ayor Aldred announced that on Tuesday, August 23, 1983, at 7:30 P.M., the
meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission will convene.

3olte, their contracted irate Expert from California, ?;r. Phil Seaman, Controller .

representatives were ;,r =sent to answer questions fro:: the Council and /or public.
[Ir. ronald P. Shaw, 2000 Visioa Drive, Palm Beach Cardcns, addressed the Perry
Cable TS representatives re: a situation whereas a person must now subscribe to
(,able Piu; at a cost of ;3.95, plu-, a deposit on a converter box, in order to

i'r. Mmes Orell, 4407 Lilac Street, Golfers Village, Palm Beach Gardens, addressed
® the rcpresentatives from Perry Cable TV re: interference from the City's Fire and
Police Departments' radio bands on his television. lie :eels this is a definite
maantenunce problem with the cable. In response to Mr. Orell, Mr. Jernigan advised
th:J, he wilt chock into this probto:,i with 2i)7,nal leakage and work toward Cctting
it res ,Dived. [Ie will also report to the City Manager on his efforts
toward resolving this problem.
lr. Jack Lagby, a resident of Shady Lakes, questioned the representatives of Perry
Cable, TV about the availability of cable service to the residents of "Shady Lakes ".
;'r. Jernigan relayed that this serva.ce will be available when the rate of return for
that ,rea wL11 not penalize their other subscribers. If they are granted their
rcque,ted increase and the came set of circumstances exist at the time, "Shady
La: -es" will have cable service available to them. There being no further comments
fr Dm the public, the Public Hearing was closed. A motion was made to authorize
the City Attorney to prepare the necessary Ordtr °nrp that would amend the franchise
agreement to reflect the rate increase as outlined by Perry Cable TV. The motion
w-i: passed unanimously. This Ordinance will be placed on First Reading at
th -,� P,egijlar Nleeting of September 1, 1983.
