FY 1983 -84 BUDGET MEETING
August 25, 1983
TIME AND PLACE: A Budget Meeting was held on Thursday, August 25, 1983
in the temporary City Council Chambers of the City hall. The meeting
was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
PRESENT: Councilman Michael Martino, Councilman Donald Kiselewski,
Councilwoman Linda Monroe and City Manager John Orr were present.
FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING was discussed. The proposed Revenue Sharing
was to remain as submitted pending congressional passage of the contin-
uation of the entitlement payments.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS was discussed. It was decided to pursue the lease
purchase of data processor equipment with word processor by April 1,
1984.
SALARY INCREASES 6f 6% as recommended were approved, with 39 being
allocated for cost -of- living and 3% as a general increase. Six (6)
percent can only be appropriated for non -union employees and department
heads, with tentative approval for union personnel, based on approval
of labor contracts for the 1983/84 Fiscal year.
CITY MANAGER'S DEPARTMENT budget was discussed. An Administrative
Assistant and/or Finance Director, Data Processor Operator would be
employed by April 1, 1984 for the City Manager's Department.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
