WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
FEBRUARY 25, 1982
The Workshop Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Gardens was
called to order, by Mayor Kled U3 at 8:00 P-M, in thu Asoombly Room,
10500 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and opened
with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
ROLL CALL: The roll was called by the Deputy City Clerk and present were: Mayor
Kiedis, Vice Mayor Martino, Councilman Aldred, Councilwoman Monroe, and
Councilman Kiselewski, Also in attendance were City Manager John Orr,
and Attorney William Brant.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mayor Kiedis announced that the City's Merit System Board wall meet
on Tuesday, March 2, 1982, at 7:30 P.M.
ITEMS BY THE CITY MAJZAGER:
Per the City Manager's recommendation, the members of the Council were
in agreement to his writing a letter to the Legislative Delegation re:
opposing CB 81 - [tedical Transportation ^ervices; HB 45 and SB 86 -
Police Officer's Disability and supporting SB 812 & HB 642 - Consultant's
Competative Negotiations Act and HB - 687 - Public Records.
The members of the Council will s10,n tnis letter.

MAYOF K_IEDIS: Fer one Mayor's request, the City Nanager will check into having the
light, repaired at the entrance to City Hall from Military Trail.
VICE MAYOR Wi ce Mayor Martino requested the Building Official to check into the
MARTINO: deplorable condition that exists regarding the landscaping (lack of) and
general mess at the Caroens Part; Shopping Center on the Corner of Military
Trail and Northlake Boulevard.
It wa.7 also suggested that Dick Cameron work with the Building Department
regarding landscape violations.
COUNCILr,IAN In response to Councilman Kiselewski, the City Manager stated the Police
KISELEWSKI. are aware of the problems at the Stop & Go Market on Lighthouse and
Gardens East Drive, and are keeping it under surveillance.
Attorney Brant was requested to check the Occupational License issued to
the Stop 3 Go Market, to see if pineall /video machines are under their
license.

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC FOR ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA:
�MS. DOREEN Ms. Doreen nuberaci, 16107 Riverside Drive, PBG, requested relies' from the
LUBERACI Council regarding a citation she received from the Director of Public Works
pursuant to the City's "Junk Vehicle" Ordinance. The car is parked in
the Swale where it wan totalled in a hit- and -run accident. When she gets
the registration for the car from New York and a monetary settlement from the
insurance company, the car will be towed away.
The City Manager was requested to advise the Director of Public Works the
situation will be corrected soon.
BILL MARKHAM Per the request of Mr. Bill Markham, PBG, the Mayor aefined what "front yard
setback" zsiwhen referenced an the City's zoning code.
RESOLUTIONS: (FOR WORKSHOP)
RESOLUTION 7, During the worksnop session on Resolution 7, 1982, appointing a Member and
1952 an Alternate Member to the City's P1annjn�, and Zoning Commission, the Council
inserted the name Stephen Brock in the blank of Section 1, and the name Leland
Coons in the blank of Section 2.
Resolution 7, 1982, wall be considered for adoption by the Council at their
Re,-ular t,ieeting of March 4, 1952.
RESOLUTIO,J 8, During, the workshop session on Resolution 8, 1982, appointing a Member and
9 =2 an Alternate Member to the City's Site Flan and Appearance Review Committee,
the Council inserted the name Alan Strassler in the blank of Section 1, and
the name Richard Rogers in the blank of Section 2.
Resolution 8, 1982, will be considered for adoption by the Council at their
Regular Meeting of March 4, 1982.
ORDINANCES: (FOR WORKSHOP)
ORDT!:A;;CC 7.9, During the workshop session on Ordinance 29, 1981, the Council changed the

time period from twelve (12) months to six (E) months, wherever it appeared
on pace 6 to make 3t iniform throughout the Ordinance. A Public Hearing and
the Council's consideration of adoption of Ordinance 29, 1981, will take
,place at their Regular Meeting of March 4, 1982.
ORDINAGCE _ The City Attorney was requested to incorporate the thoughts of the Counc2,
1982 into the 2/23/82 draft of the proposed Tree Preservation Ordinance, which will
be pla,-ed cn first reading at the Regular Meeting of ?larch 4, 1982.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL LIAISONS TO ADVISORY BOARDS
The members of the Council were appointed Liaisons to the various
advisory boards of the City.
•COUNCILMAN Councilman Ki:elewski handed cut to the other member: of the Council a
KISELEWSKI: sketch of the changes he would like to see made to the Assembly Room,
and requested their suggestions /ideas for discussion at a meeting in the
future.
The City Manager was requested to get preliminary cost estimates for this
upgrading of the Assembly Room.
Councilman K:sclewski requested that the Council consider revising the
City's restrictions or campiagn signs at a workshop meeting in the near
future.
MAYOR KIEDIS: The Mayor will relate to Mr. Rodney t•1=_."- rthur the Council's receptiveness
to considerinc his proposal to develop commercial - professional offices
on the east side of Military Trail, north of PGA Boulevard.
