AN'NSHNCCMFNTS: Mayor Feeney announced that at 9:30 A.M., on Frrdav, March 6, 196.1, the Looic and Accuracy Test will be held on the Computer Election System; the City's General Election will he conducted from 7:00 A.M. to i:OO P.M. on Lresday, (larch 10. 1981: a meeting ., rolm 'Beach Gardens Fire Depart- ment, inc. will convene at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 1981; and the Beautification and Cnvironmontal Committee will hold their monthly meeting on Uednesdpv. City Council Regular Meeting, 3/5;81 Page 2 RESOLUTIONS: By a unanimous vote of the Council, the City Clerk read in full Am RESOLUTION 15, Resolution 15, 1931, extending the permissible time for Pratt & Whitney 1981 Aircraft Group to ucfe two modular buildings as offices at their Palm Beach Gardens facility. Resolution 15, 1981 was unanimously adopted by the Council. Their enmments, included Li,e suggestion that in ran effort to discourage childrer- from plaving on the curve of Hawthorne Ave r chain link fencing be installed in addition to the hedge material proposed. City Council Regular Meeting, 3/5/ 81 Mayor Feeney declared the Public Hearing closed. Page 3 By a unanimous vote of the Council, the City Clark read in full, an second reading, Ordinance 4, 1981, with the names of "Beaumont Place" and "Nick Raich Investment Companv" inserted in the stead of the names "Miramar II" and "Royal Investment and Development Corporation ", respec- tively, in all insinncer: they appeared to the Ordinance, and the amount of $15,000 inserted in the blank of Section 3. A motion was made by Councilman Laurie, seconded by Vice Mayor Aldred, that Ordinance 114, 1981, be adopted by ,ir, Council with the provisos that the pions for the project be modified to include a 51 in height chain link fence, buffered with a 5' rather than a 6' in height ficus hedge, along the curve on Aawthorne Avenue and Focus Street, north to the southeast corner with a 25' wade break immediately vest of the corner for pedestrians to enter /exit; and that the letter received by thr City from the developer indicating that he would contribute $1,000 tovard the landscaping of the median = L m Avenue be included as part of the record. The City Attorney will research uhether or not the City is legally obligated to pay the supplemental invoice of Obst and Associate:,, Architects, for the services they rcndc- d prior to the Community Activities Building being presented to the City's electors. Bankers Land Company, who is loaning the City the funds to develop the Community Activities Building on a draw basis, will be provided a schedule of the events to take place in the realization of the facility. MAYOR FEENEY: Mayor Feeney, who slid not seek re- election after seven years in office, made a brief farewell speech. During t' speech, Mayor Feeney expressed that "The past seven years have been very enjoyable because of many people - friends that I ha,,- in the City, people such as yourselves that come Lo the City Cot - cil meet _.n,, ano dive us the benefit of your input, and because of the people up hEre at the City Council . . . It has been a lot of fun. I've really enjoyed it. We've got some super people in the Cjty. 1 think Palm Beach Gardens is the best place to live - a great rommuniL�.
