Leach Gardens, Florida. The meeting began at 10:35 a.m. and con - clude� at 11:45 a.m. The following Task Force members attended this meet - :n0: "nssrs. Darlson, Geisinger, Kiselewski, Lepeska, Wallace and Col. Don arrue. The Florida Department of Transportation was represented by Messrs. Fowler, Hines, Lewis, Harcoux and Stehmeyer. The Palm Beach County LecisIative Delegation was represented by Rep. Kimmel, Ms. McCord frog, Senator Lewis' office, and a representative from Rep. Liberti's office. The Pain, Beach County Commission was represented by Don Kohl from Commis- sioner Evatt's office and Karen Marcus from Commissioner Koehler's office. list o` ethers attending the meeting is attached. i'r. Darlson opened the meeting by asking Messrs. Fowler and LeV %is .r, dlS t;ss the status of the design work on the various projects in the n,� Link" of 1 -95. Mr. Lewis discussed these projects. The design work or the first: project was completed in November, 1981. This project is 466407 ano covers the area between the St. Lucie /;'_:rein county line and C.R. 714. The next project, #, 446415 covering the area bets- n C.R. 714 and C.R. 76 4, is now scheduled for design completion in March, 1982. The next two p °o3ect1,, # 446414 and # 445413, are still on schedule with design completion for June, 7982 and July, 1982. The fift', oroject, # 446412, is ow scneduied for design completion in April, 1982. ire original completion date was September, 1981. The remaining five projects, # 447496, 447495, 4a749v, 447497 and 447469 are on schedule. The two design projects that have slipped, r 446415 (2) and # 446412 (5), are on schedule for their right -of- way activity and for # 446415 the right -of -way maps are almost complete. Nr. Lewis then explained that the members of the Task Force shculd rct be too concerned about the design completion dates. A more important mi'estone would be the Project headiness Dates ( PRD) . That is the date when all design end right -of -way work on a particular project is complete ,,nd the contract for cons ruction can be let. The PRD for these ten projects vary from November, 1981 ( #1) to June, 1984 (b9). Mr. Lewis stated that he believes t+nese PRD an be met. 1.1r. Fowler stated that he would provide the Task Force members ,Aith a r:onthly re Dort showing the status of four items: Project Readiness Dates; kntac-.patE,d Letting Dates; Design Completion Dates; and Right -of -Way C -ear. "Fis w,ll provide a good overview of the progress on the "Missing Link." Mr. Lewis then discussed the status of funding for right -of -way aC, cuts'tI oI. He said that Governor Graham had sent a letter co Senator C -Deers In 0,ich he stated that all right -of -way funds will be committed r,y jaruarv, :9E3. (Note: Senator Childers held a press conference on 0 cember llt} and made available copies of the Governor's letter which is Included.) "r. Lev.is further stated that if the actual cost of right-of-way Ak I -95 Task Force December 8, 1981 age 2 acquisition does reach the estimated $$50 million that the Governor and the Department will provide the necessary funds to meet that commitment. This depends of course on no change in priority for completing the interstate system in Florida by either the Governor or the Legislature. Mr. Lewis also discussed the opening of the field office. It is anticipated that this office will be open by February, 1982. This office will serve as the Department's right -of -way acquisition office and will be located at I -95 and PGA Boulevard (northeast quadrant). There were a number of citizens present at this meeting from Palm Beach Gardens. They were especially interested in the location of the intersection of 1 -95 and Military Trail. Per. Stehmeyer discussed the design and location of this project and asked for further suggestions on the design for this project. The Palm Beach Garoens City Commission will work with these concerned citizens and the city engineer to develop recommendations for the Department.
