HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 051981CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MAY 19, 1981 Subsequent to the adjournment of the May to, 1981 Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and Recreation Advisory Board with Mr. Otto (Buzz) DiVosta re: the $155,000 he wishes to donate to the City for the construction of a municipal swimming pool, Vice Mayo- Martino requested an opportunity to address a question unrelated to the purpose of the meeting to Attorney Brant. In light of the fact the City Attorney rendered the opinion that this would noC be in violation of the intent of the "Government in the Sunshine Law ", since itwould be considered a continuation of the Special Meeting duly posted, the discussion ensued with all members of the Council in attendance. Vice Mayor Martino referenced the Le *` - of Complaint dated March 2L, 1981 from Attorney .lack Scarola and the Letter of Complaint dated April 27, 1081 from "A Concerned Citizens Group" re: a�leged violations of Section 2- .03(a) of the City's Code of Ethics, and inyuireo as to 5,hat action /documentation would be necessary for the Council to hold an administrative hearing on these complaints. In response, the City Attorney .Idviscd a specific time should be set aside with procedures established for the conduct of the hearing. Councilman Kiselewski inoufred as to the procedure for the Council to consider the May 1, 1931 complaint filed by Attorney Scarola 1-e: alleged violations of Section 2 -103 (g) of the City's Code of Ethics_ Per the request of the Coiincil, Attorney Brant will provide them recommended Pules of Procedure <at their meeting o: May 21, 1981. 7 COUNCILW01qAN MONROE
