JUNE 2, 1980
An Administrative Meeting of the City Council /City Manager convened at 7:30 P.M. on
Monday, June 2, 1980, in the Assembly Room at the City Hall Complex.
Mayor Dick Feeney, Vice Mayor Dick Aldred, Councilman John Kiedis, Councilwoman Linda
Monroe, and City Manager John Orr were in attendance. Councilman Samuel Laurie was
not in attendance. Three students from the P. B. G. High School were in attendance.
The purpose of the meeting was for the City Manager to learn the City Council's recep-
tiveness to the request of the P. B. G. High School graduates to hold a post- graduation
social an property at Lake Catherine on MacArthur Boulevard, on Friday, June 6, 1980.
Mayor Feeney, Vice Mayor Aldred, and Councilwoman Monroe were not objectionable to the
City Manager permitting this event, which was verified by an informal motion made by
Councilman Aldred, seconded by Councilwoman Monroe, provided that the students:
1. Ascertain written approval from the owner of the property, Bankers Life & Casualty
Company
2. Clean up the area by the afternoon of the following day.
3. Ascertain liability insurance.
4. Be financially responsible for two off -duty police officers to be present during
the event.
5. Provide the City a list of 10 parents that will be in attendance at the event.
6. Notify the neighbors on Riverside Drive they will be holding this social.
7. Ensuring that the band faces Northlake Boulevard
The City would be responsible for one extra on -duty police officer between the hours of
10:00 P.M. and 2:00 A.M..
Mayor Feeney made note that noone under 18 years of age would be permitted to drink
alcoholic beverages.
Vice Mayor Aldred noted that using the figure of 400 as the quantity of individuals of
drinking age that would be in attendance, there should be a maximum of 100 gallons of
beer at the social.
Councilman Kiedis was not in favor of the City P4anager granting the subject request.
With no further business, the meeting djourne at 7:55 P.M..
