FY 1979 -80 BUDGET MEETING
AUGUST 23, 1979
A Budget Meeting to discuss Salaries and Wages was held on Thursday, August
23, 1979 at the City Hall. Meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M.
OLL CALL: Present: Mayor Samuel Laurie, Councilmen Martino, Feeney and
Aidred. ity Manager John L. Orr was also in attendance.
DISCUSSION /RECOMMENDATIONS /APPROVAL:
1. An 8% Cost of Living increase was approved for all employees of the City,
effective October 1, 1979.
2. Approval was given to additional Merit Increases for Department Heads/
Assistant Department Heads.
3. A 2% Merit Fund was established to be allocated to employees that warrant
an increase. These monies will be allocated approximately April 1st,
1980, or for the last six (6) months of the current Budget. Merit Fund
established for General Employees, excluding Department Heads /Assistant
Department heads. Merit Fund will also be used for Promotional Increases.
4. The following three (3) recommended promotions were approved by Council
in the Public Works Department:
Frank Bertozzi - Promoted to Range 28, Supv. Gen. Maintenance Crew
Dick Cameron - Promoted to Range 28, Supv. Maintenance /Repairs
William Kazakavage - Promoted to Range 26, Auto Mechanic
The above listed personnel will receive promotional increase, plus
the 8% cost of living increase.
5. Department Heads /Assistant Department Heads salaries were approved as
follows:
