CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
AUGUST 8, 1977
PURPOSE: A Workshop Meeting of the City Council to discuss the 1977 -7R
General Fund Budget for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, was held
in the office of the receptionist, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm
Beach Gardens, Florida, and called to order at 7:30 P.M.
ROLL CALL: Present were: Mayor Feeney, Vice Mayor Laurie, Councilman Kiedis
and Councilman Martino. City Manager John L. Orr was in attendance
and Chief Arrants was present to discuss the Fire Department Budget.
DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
13 - BUILDING DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT was discussed and reviewed and the
following adjustments were made:
ACCOUNT 13 -401 - MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR - Requested $100 - Approved $75.00.
ACCOUNT 13 -490 - OTHER CURRENT CHARGES - Requested $600 - Approved $250.00.
12 - FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT was discussed and reviewed and the
following adjustments were made:
ACCOUNT 12 -221 - CONFERENCE/MEETINGS /TRAVEL EXPENSE - Requested $896.00 -
Approved $800.00.
ACCOUNT 12 -228 - COMMUNICATION REPAIRS - Requested $2,000.00 - Approved
$1,000.00. Removed conversion to Lake Park Fire Department.
ACCOUNT 12 -290 - OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES - Requested $2,530.00 -
Approved $30.00. Removed Physicals (50) @ $50.00 ea.
ACCOUNT 12 -303 - OPERATING SUPPLIES - Requested $5,000.00 - Approved $4,500.
ACCOUNT 12 -319 - UNIFORMS AND LEATHER GOODS - Requested $5,500.00 -
Approved $4,100.00. Reduced Nomex Turnouts (12) - $720.00; Nomex Fire Coats

ACCOUNT 12 -491 - EDUCATION - Requested $1,500.00 - Approved $1,200.00.
Deleted Junior College.
ACCOUNT 12 -503 - FIELD EQUIPMENT - Requested $8,990.00 - Approved $5,860.00.
Reduced Scott Air Pacs (2) - $1,000; Metal X (2) - $360.00; Deleted
Blackhawk Rescue Kit and Shop Vacuum, and Folding Tank.
ACCOUNT 12 -610 - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO MUNICIPAL PROPERTY - Requested
$1,000.00 - Approved $300.00. Deleted Exercise Machine and reduced
lights to $300.00.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 10 :00 P.M.
