CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
AUGUST 22, 1977
PURPOSE: A Workshop Meeting of the City Council to discuss the 1977 -78 General
Fund Budget for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, was held in the office
of the receptionist, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens,
Florida, and called to order at 7 :30 P.M.
ROLL CALL: Present were: Mayor Feeney, Vice Mayor Laurie, Councilman Martino and
Councilman Kiedis. City Manager John L. Orr was in attendance and Chief
Bill Edwards, Police Department was present to discuss the Police
Department Budget.
DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
08 - POLICE DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT was discussed and reviewed and the
following adjustments were made:
ACCOUNT 08 -214 - COOPERATING MUNICIPALITIES: Requested $200.00 - Approved -
$100.00
ACCOUNT 08 -221 - EXHIBIT AND CONFERENCE EXPENSE: Requested $4$0.00 -
Approved $250.00
ACCOUNT 08 -22.8 - COMMUNICATIONS EXPENSE: Requested $3.500.00 - Approved
$3,000.00
ACCOUNT 08 -290 - OTHER CONTRACTURAL SERVICES. Requested $2,975.00 -
Approved $1,705.00 Medical examinations for new employees reduced to
6 for a new total of $300.00. Deleted memberships to North County YMCA
in the amount of $720.00.
ACCOUNT 08 -316 - PRISONERS EXPENSE: Requested $2,250. - Approved $1,500.00
ACCOUNT 08 -319 - UNIFORMS AND LEATHER GODS: Requested $9,000 - Approved
$8,500.
ACCOUNT 08 -490 - OTHER CURRENT CHARGES: Requested $1,170 - Approved
$670.00 Deleted Jr. Police Association in the amount of $500.00

ACCOUNT 08 -491 - EDUCATInN: Requested $2,000. - Approved $1,000.
ACCOUNT 08 -501 - BOOKS: Requested $600. - Approved $500.
ACCOUNT 08 -502 - OFFICE EQUIPMENT: Requested $1,438.00 - Approved $,1239.00
Wall Lockers reduced to 1 at $199.00.
ACCOUNT 09 -503 - FIELD EQUIPMENT: Requested $4,270. - Approved $2,180.00
Deleted 1 35 mm camera - $350.; 1 professional type photographic strobe
light - $225.; 1 Federal Twinsonic twin light bar with speaker - $290.;
1 Radar Unit - $900.; and reduced bullet proof vests to 5 for $450.00.
ADJnURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 10 :40 P.M.
