CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS
AUGUST 25, 1977
PURPOSE: A Workshop Meeting of the City Council to disco ss the 1977 -78 General
Fund Budget for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, was held in the office
of the receptionist, 19500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida,
and was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
ROLL CALL: Present were: Mayor Feeney, Vice Mayor Laurie, Councilman Martino and
Councilman Kiedis. City Manager John L. Orr was in attendance.
DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
01 - GENERAL GDVERNMENT: was discussed and reviewed and the following
adjustments were made:
ACCOUNT 01 -101 - PROFESSIONAL FEES AND SERVICE: Requested $2500. -
Approved - $2,000,
ACCOUNT 01 -203 - PRINTING AND BINDING: Requested $8,000 - Approved --
$7,500.
ACCOUNT 01 -205 - MAPS AND BLUEPRINTS: RequeEted $300 - Approved - $500.00.
ACCOUNT 01 -210 - GARBAGE COLLECTION: Requested $102,000 - Approved -
$100,000.
ACCOUNT 01 -231 - WATER AND SEWER - Requested $9,500 - Approved $8,500.
ACCOUNT 01 -423 - AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES - Requested $450. Approved $350.
PROPOSED FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING EXPENDITURES were discussed and reviewed
and the following adjustments were made:
Fire Hose reduced to $5,000.
Administration added in amount of $5,300.
Deleted Handball courts in the amount of $11,000. Transferred 14 -610 -
Capital Improvements from Recreation Department to Proposed Federal
Revenue Sharing Expenditures for a total of $11,000 broken down as

follows: Bleachers - $944; Backstops - $51537; Basketball Court - $31232.
Playground Equipment $1'287.
ACCOUNT 103 - SALARIES & WAGES: was discussed and reviewed and the following
adjustments were made:
ACCOUNT 04 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: City Manager Salary was increased to $19'500.
ACCOUNT 06 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: No change
ACCOUNT 07 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: City Clerk Salary increased to $131000.
ACCOUNT 12 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: Removed the employee name of William
White and added employee name of Kenneth E. Gordon as Fire Fighter' Range 24 -3
at a salary of $91314.00.
ACCOUNT 12 -107 - MERIT INCREASES: Deleted $420.00
ACCOUNT 14 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: Recreation Director Balary - $12 "300
ACCOUNT 14 -107 - MERIT INCREASES: Added $400.00
ACCOUNT 15 -103 - SALARIES & WAGES: Director of Public Works Salary - $16'250.
W ACCOUNT 15 -106 - OVERTIME: Reduced to $3'000.
EXHIBIT "A" STATEMENT OF REVENUES was reviewed and the following changes were
made:
FRANCHISE TAXES: Florida Power and Light increased to $175'000
Southern Bell Tel. & Tel. increased to $91000
LICENSES AND PERMITS: Occupational Licenses increased to $50,000
OTHER SOURCES: Fines increased to $20'000
Miscellaneous increased to $601000
Adjust property taxes to reflect reduced millage.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 1:05 A.M.
