Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. ROLL CALL: Present were: Mayor Martino, Vice Mayor DeLonga, Councilman Kiedis, the City Manager John L. Orr and Attorney Brant. PURPOSE: The purpose of the tweeting was to discuss the land acquisition of the 9t acres adjacent to the City Hall Complex and the financing of same. The City Manager, John L. Orr, made the following statement: "We received (2) appraisals for the 9: acres adjacent to the City Complex. Per the Council's instructions, I re- negotiated with Royal American Industries, Inc. for the purchase of the 94 acres. I made a tentative offer based on the average of the (2) appraisals; Royal American wade a counter proposal of 10% above the top appraisal on a take it or leave it basis. The fact that this land is vital to the City in many aspects and due to the escalating price of land, I feel that we should pursue this proposal. The present City owned land is "L" shaped and we definitely need the 91 acres to square off our boundaries. The 9: acres are zoned M-1 and should the City not purchase this parcel there very well could be warehouses or some other type structure that could completely destroy the City's intended use of this land. I had the City Attorney work up a tentative agreement for your consideration and I have given four methods Administrative Meeting, October 23, 1975 Pag e 2 of payment based on a 7'6 interest rate with a 12 year mortgage arrangement. Interest is on the unpaid balance. I recommend Option "A" or Option "C" due to the flexability this arrangement offers and due to the uncertainty of our present economy ". Discussion was held by the Council present. Vice Mayor DeLonga favored Option "B" and Option "D "; Mayor Martino favored Option "A" and Option "D"; and Councilman Kiedis favored Option "B" and Option "D ". Councilman Wiley had expressed to the City Manager that he favored Option "A". No action was taken until the full Council was present. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
