HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Council 080774BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS AUGUST 7, 1974 PURPOSE: A Workshop Meeting to discuss the 1974 -75 General Fund Budget for the City of Palm Beach Gardens was held at 7 :30 P.M. in the office of the Receptionist, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Present were: Mayor Michael Martino, Vice Mayor James DeLonga, Councilman John Kiedis and Councilman Dick Feeney. Also present were City Manager John L. Orr, Jr., Jack Hanson, Building Inspector and Ed Arrants, Fire Chief. Joe Crocker and Tom Vreeland were also present. DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The following items were reviewed and preliminary adjustments were made as follows: EXHIBIT 13 - BUILDING DEPARTMENT: Account 103: Salaries and Wages - The vacancy of Building Inspector I salary was reduced to year's salary which is $4547.00. Account 490: Other Current Charges - This account was reduced to $75.00. The Secretary I classification was increased from Range 16 to Range 17. The change will be made by Resolution before the Budget is adopted. EXHIBIT 12- FIRE DEPARTMENT: Account 215: Contractual Services - This account was reduced to $200.00. Account 221: Conferencet Meetingst Travel - This account was reduced to $640.00. Account 228: Communications Expense - This account was reduced to $1586.00 Account 303: Operating Supplies - The Fire Chief will submit Budget Workshop Meeting, August 7, 1974 Page 2 an itemized breakdown on this account. Account 319: Uniforms and Leather Goods _ This account was reduced to $1,200.00. Account 490:1 Other Current Charges - This account was reduced to $1275.00. Account 491: Education - This account was reduced to $850.00. Account 503: Field Equipment - This account was reduced to $10,050.00. The City Manager recommended that merit increases be considered on the employees anniversary date rather than using the month of May as merit increase criteria. The Council agreed.
