CITY OF PAU-1 BEACH GARDENS
AUGUST 22, 1974
A Special Meeting of the City Council of Palm Beach Gardens was
held in the Assembly Room, 10500 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach
Gardens on August 220 1974 at 9 :01 P.M. following the adjournment
of the Workshop Meeting.
ROLL CALL: The City Clerk called the roll and present were: Mayor Martino,
Vice Mayor DeLonga, Councilman Wiley, Councilman Kiedis and
Councilman Feeney. City Manager John L. Orr, Jr. and Attorney
Brant were present.
PURPOSE: Mayor 'Martino explained the purpose of the Special Meeting was to
consider the awarding of the bids for the construction of sidewalks
on Holly Drive from Lighthouse Drive to Ironwood Road, for the
reason to get the project underway and completing it as soon as
possible to accommodate the oncoming school year. The next Regular
Meeting would not convene for two weeks.
Councilman Wiley was in disagreement to calling the Special Meeting
and failed to find the reasons valid, stating the bids could have
been awarded at the next Regular Meeting, September 5, 1974 and
handled within the 30 day time period.
BIDS FOR The City Manager recommended awarding the bids for the construction
ON HOLLY of sidewalks on Holly Drive to R.W.S. Concrete Service for the

low bid amount of $8,330.
Discussion followed and Councilman Wiley expressed concern about
the lack of detailed specifications as to elevation and cross
sections and the disposition of the stone work at the corner of
Lighthouse Drive and Holly Drive.

The meeting was recessed to a Special Meeting on Thursday, August
29, 1974 for consideration of the bids and continued discussion
on the budget.
The City Manager, Director of Public Works and Councilman Wiley
before the meeting will review the set of plans taking into
consideration the comments on the drawings by Councilman Wiley
and the comments of the City Engineer.
The City Manager will obtain additional information, which was
not part of the bid specifications, for the area between Holly
Drive to the railroad tracks.
ADJOURNNIENT: No further business the meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
